[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1915014] Re: [amdgpu] [wayland] Screen goes occasionally black after taking a screenshot

2021-02-15 Thread BitBurners.com
I downgraded to 20.04 kernel (5.4.x) and I am still getting the black
flashes.

BTW, the journal seems to expose the username, so you should warn about
that before requesting it.

The original bug report was slightly inaccurate. "Black flashes" may
occur also without taking a screenshot, usually when closing an
application.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1914877] Re: Stuttering video playback

2021-02-07 Thread BitBurners.com
Thanks @vanvugt,

I had to wipe the setup and replace with Windows to quickly work around
from the issue. However:

- Wayland vs. X11 makes no difference. I usually prefer Wayland, but tried X
too. Also, KDE Neon uses X as default.
- I investigated a bit further, and indeed the time-line of the issue matches
quite accurately with the kernel 5.8 upgrade. Also, the KDE Neon installation
media comes with 5.8 currently.

Since I can now only debug with live media, I guess I need to try 20.04
vs 20.04.2, unless someone else is able to repro this.

Title:
  Stuttering video playback

Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Something has regressed recently to cause stuttering video playback.
especially at the Cmore.fi. This makes sports broadcasts very
uncomfortable to look at. The issue appeared about 1-2 weeks ago, so
  it is very recent.

It used to work fine on this HW for months, but not anymore.

It does not depend on the browser, as the issue is the same on Firefox or
Chrome.
It does not depend on the DE, as KDE Neon suffers from the same issue.

I had to install Windows 10, which of course is a tragedy. Posting
this report from a 20.04.2 live USB session and the issue is
  reproduced with this as well.

Bug description:
On HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G3, the WiFi-connection is going constantly

pushing notifications about disconnects, and then it reconnects.

The signal is not very strong here, but I never saw this with Ubuntu
  17.10.

Bug description:
On HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G3, the WiFi-connection is going constantly
up and down, ever since I migrated from 17.10. System is constantly
pushing notifications about disconnects, and then it reconnects.

The signal is not very strong here, but I never saw this with Ubuntu
  17.10.

Bug description:
On HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G3, the WiFi-connection is going constantly
up and down, ever since I migrated from 17.10. System is constantly
pushing notifications about disconnects, and then it reconnects.

The signal is not very strong here, but I never saw this with Ubuntu

Bug description:
On HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G3, the WiFi-connection is going constantly

** Tags added: apport-collected

** Description changed:

On HP Elitebook Folio 1040 G3, the WiFi-connection is going constantly
up and down, ever since I migrated from 17.10. System is constantly
pushing notifications about disconnects, and then it reconnects.

The signal is not very strong here, but I never saw this with Ubuntu

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1372173] [NEW] Ubuntu 14.04 fails to resume from suspend on Thinkpad X301

2014-09-21 Thread BitBurners.com
Public bug reported:

My system is unable to completely resume after suspend/closed lid. The
screen wakes up and all the system LEDs, but all I get is the wallpaper
and a working mouse pointer. I am able to hit CTRL-ALT-F2 and sudo
reboot from there. The issue is also reproduced with Gnome-flashback /

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1022322] Re: GNOME keyring often fails to unlock in XFCE

This has started to appear on my Xubu 12.10 64bit after couple of months
of problem free usage.

Title:
GNOME keyring often fails to unlock in XFCE

Status in “gnome-keyring” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
GNOME Keyring often fails to unlock at login in XFCE, other users in
the xubuntu-users mailing list have also reported this. It affects
applications using the gnome-keyring framework, including chromium /
  google chrome.

The file causing the problem is
/etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.desktop . The line
  OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity
  should be changed to
  OnlyShowIn=GNOME;Unity;XFCE

to enable gnome-based applications using the keyring to run properly
  under XFCE.

  dpkg -S gnome-keyring-pkcs11.desktop
  gives
  gnome-keyring: /etc/xdg/autostart/gnome-keyring-pkcs11.desktop
so the package that needs to be fixed is definitely gnome-keyring.
