Title:
[X11] copy/paste (clipboard) with LibreOffice is broken in Ubuntu

Status in LibreOffice:

Status in Mutter:

Status in mutter package in Ubuntu:

Status in mutter source package in Focal:

Status in mutter source package in Groovy:

Bug description:
  [ Impact ]

  I'm running LibreOffice 6.3.2.2 on Ubuntu 19.10.

In this environment, copy/cut/paste often fails. Specifically, the
paste command sometimes does not paste the text that was cut/copied
most recently. Instead, it pastes text that was cut/copied at some
  prior time.

  [ Test case ]

  1. Use use libreoffice writer/calc
  2. Copy text around
  3. Paste it and ensure it always work

  [ Regression potential ]

Copy/paste won't work as expected, for non-text types

  -

I use LibreOffice Writer a lot, and I now see this problem very often, i.e.
many times every day.

There is some discussion of the problem here:

     https://ask.libreoffice.org/en/question/213510/copypaste-issues-
  libreoffice-calc/

Several posters there say that they are also using Ubuntu 19.10.

Ubuntu 19.10 includes Mutter 3.34, which has a new clipboard manager:

     https://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item=GNOME-3.34
  -Clipboard-Manager

It seems like that could be related.

I may be nave or ignorant, you guess, but 20some programs running on
Gnome daily work just fine. so my guess is that they programmed their
applications for Gnome and it works. Why LO be an exception?.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 993674] [NEW] Javascript falsely reported as blocked in Firefox

2012-05-02 Thread Carlos Sevcik
Public bug reported:

An extremely important site for my work, the NCBI Protein Data Bank
stores crystal structure of proteins which used to be easily
downloadable. Not now, the site reports Firefox 12 as not compatible
indicating that javascripts are blocked. The site is:

http://www.rcsb.org/pdb/browser/browsercheck.do

According to Firefox preferences Javascripts are enabled. The NCBI PDB
site advices to install an Oracle Java plugin in Firefox, but this does
not solve the problem; furthermore if the Oracle plugin is installed
Firefox becomes unstable, and still does not work with the NCBI PDB
site.

The problem is extremely critical to me and I believe to many other
scientists.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 971601] Re: soffice.bin crashed with SIGSEGV

2012-04-02 Thread Carlos Sevcik
** Visibility changed to: Public

** Description changed:

- Its a common crash of LibreOffce v 3.5 and specia 3.51 when importing
- certain do and xls documents to LO. It is more frequent on 65 bit
- machines. I reported this to LO but they claim they cannot reproduce it.
- It occurs in two of my 64 bit machines. Some of the doc which cause LO
- to crash my 64 bit machines do not crash LO in my Asus Eee Atom netbook
- The xls files either are imported OK (with some files) or crash LO in
- the 3 machines. The crashes ocurr with Ubuntu 12.04 beta, Linux Mint 11
- and Linux Mint 12.
