[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1376403] Re: gedit manual missing escape sequences

2015-10-09 Thread Christopher Yeleighton
I tell gedit to show help.
I go to the section "Search for text".
The section does not tell me how to search for a new line.
It should tell that you use an escape sequence to search for a new line.

As discussed in Bug GNOME 740021, version 3.8.x provided by Ubuntu 14.04
LTS is OBSOLETE and UNSUPPORTED.

Title:
system monitor update interval resets to zero (0)

Status in gnome-system-monitor package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
This is not a lifethreatening bug, but it looks sloppy...

  What i did:
  1) Start the gnome-system-monitor
  2) Select the menu item 'preferences'
  3) Observe the value of 'update interval' on any of the three tabs. It is
'0,00' eventhough the interval is set to some other value (e.g. '1,00')
  4) Change the value to something that is easy to detect as being different
from the current value. (say '3,00') and close the dialogue.
  5) Observe that the value has been accepted.
  6) Select the menu item 'preferences' again and ...
  7) Observe that the value of 'update interval' is again set to '0,00'.

The required info for reporting the bug:
  Ubuntu version: 14.04 LTS
  gnome-system-monitor version: 3.8.2.1-2ubuntu1

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1388743] Re: iOS 8.1 - Could not start com.apple.mobile.installation_proxy!

2015-06-08 Thread Christopher Yeleighton
This problem is fixed by updating ideviceinstaller to version 1.1.0.
The version available in Ubuntu Software Center is 1.0.1-0.2. Note that
you need to upgrade the whole stack because of library dependencies and
protocol mismatch (ideviceinstaller 1.1.0 cannot talk to usbmuxd 1.0.8).

2015-06-08 Thread Christopher Yeleighton
Also note that you cannot just remove the outdated package
libmobiledevice4 because both ubuntu-session and software-center depend
on it, so you will not be able to log in to the desktop or reinstall
software-center.
