[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1683990] Re: [Precision 3510, Realtek ALC3235, Speaker, Internal] No sound at all. Resets to mute. No 'Play Sound Through' options

2017-12-16 Thread Clare
And, now, no more sound. The sound lasted just long enough for one re-
start. Bug should remain open.

  -original text of bug--

I have had no sound since original (fairly recent) purchase. I
  purchased online from Dell.

Sound preferences were originally showing in upper right hand corner
of the screen, but the sliders for changing volume were grayed out,
and choosing sound test had no audible or visual result.

Now sound preferences are not showing in upper right corner at all,
and system preferences --> sound no longer shows 'sound test' as an
  option.

I tried to fix original problem myself by killing then re-starting pulseaudio
No effect. Also I tried commands

  apt-get purge pulseaudio
  and then later
  apt-get install pulseaudio

it seemed to be after that when the sound preferences stopped showing
in upper right corner, but I also did a general ubuntu update at the
same time (and there is still a restart required for update for
  'Latitude E5X60 System Update' 68614)

I have had no sound since original (fairly recent) purchase. I purchased
  online from Dell.

Sound preferences were originally showing in upper right hand corner of

choosing sound test had no audible or visual result.

Now sound preferences are not showing in upper right corner at all, and

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1313430] Re: Crashes on Ubuntu 14.04 when trying to connect to iPod

2014-12-05 Thread Michael Clare
If I connect my Ipod to Itunes in a Windows 7 64 bit Virtual Box then let the
Ipod sync,
then reboot and use Rhythmbox it seems to fix the problem.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1313430] Re: Crashes on Ubuntu 14.04 when trying to connect to iPod

2014-05-24 Thread Michael Clare
I am having the exact same issue. 14.04 64 bits, ipod 2nd gen 32GB.
I open rhythmbox click on my ipod then it crashes.
I tried Banshee and the exact same thing happens.
So its probably some library used by both programs :)

2012-05-11 Thread Michael Clare
Public bug reported:

I did not have this problem with Ubuntu 11.10, but since installing
12.04, banshee will freeze every time I switch songs or every other
song. It returns control after one to two minutes or so, but happens so
often that it is becoming unusable as my music player.

I noticed these warnings when running banshee --debug:

Title:
Banshee freezes very often while playing Ipod

Status in “banshee” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
I did not have this problem with Ubuntu 11.10, but since installing
12.04, banshee will freeze every time I switch songs or every other
song. It returns control after one to two minutes or so, but happens
so often that it is becoming unusable as my music player.

I noticed these warnings when running banshee --debug:
[1 Warn 18:17:38.242] Failed to load media-player-info file for 1

  And also:
[8 Warn 18:17:39.401] Failed to start DAAP client - System.Exception: No
Zeroconf providers could be found or initialized. Necessary daemon may not be
running. (in `Mono.Zeroconf')
