[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1576084] Re: Firefox crashes with raspberry pi 3

2018-01-07 Thread Damian Christey
This bug seems to be related to Firefox 46. Could someone who is
affected by this try installing Firefox 52 and see if it works?

Note: Firefox 55 and newer also always crash on ARMv7. See bug #1711337

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1711337] Re: Firefox crashes at start on armv7L after 55.0.1 update

2018-01-07 Thread Damian Christey
I think this bug can be fixed, but the first step is getting someone
with the required permissions to acknowledge that it exists, and change
the status back to confirmed. With its current status, it probably isn't
showing up on the radar of any Ubuntu developers.

Bug description:
Firefox always crashes when launched after the 55.0.1 update on an

installed Firefox and experienced the same problem--it won't load

Title:
Firefox crashes repeatedly after system update

Status in ubuntu-mate:
  Invalid
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  How to reproduce:
  - Download and install Ubuntu Mate 16.04.2 LTS, Raspberry Edition, on a micro
SD card.
  - Boot the Pi with that card, and launch Firefox. Everything's OK so far. By
the way, it's FF 54.0.
  - Update everything either with Software Updater or with apt-get update +
apt-get upgrade.
  - (Attempt to) launch Firefox again. It won't start at all, and all you'll
get will be a window repeatedly saying that Firefox has crashed, and proposing
to send a bug report.

I've initially noticed this issue on the latest (LTS) version of the
Raspberry Edition of Ubuntu Mate (16.04.2), and afterwards reproduced
it on the 32-bit version of the Desktop Edition (16.04.3), so it's not
a Raspberry-specific issue. But, oddly enough, not on the 64-bit
version, where Firefox was updated from 54.0 to 56.0 and kept running
fine. I did not try more recent versions of the Desktop Edition (17.04
or 17.10) because the latest available for the Pi is the 16.04.2.

I wish I could help more, by pinpointing precisely what has gone
wrong, but this is the first time I report a bug in Ubuntu, and I
don't know where to start the debugging.

  Thanks for reading,

  Marc

that bug report is about Firefox 52, the bug has already been fixed,

  Marc

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1245097] Re: Internal data flow error playing dvds

2013-12-26 Thread Damian Christey
I am also seeing this bug when trying to play dvds on both 32 and 64 bit
systems. I also found a duplicate in bug #1253799, so that's +3 more
affected.

Title:
Internal data flow error playing dvds

Status in The GStreamer Multimedia Framework:
  Unknown
Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Since upgrading to saucy salamander, with totem 3.8.2-0ubuntu1, I have
errors playing DVDs. They start playing, but after a little while, I
get the Internal data flow error and playback stops. This didn't
  happen before upgrading ubuntu.

The dvds are actually iso files created with ddrescue, but I don't
expect that would change things. The same files play without problem
  in mplayer.
