I've got to the same commmit by using 'git bisect' independently. I
haven't looked into it yet, however. I guess a bug report to util-linux
might be good too.

Thanks for testing.

I couldn't reproduce the problem here, but I'll try with a newer kernel
next week. Unfortunately I only have access to an actual floppy drive
about once a week.

BTW, what kind of distribution and destop environment are you two
using?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1313874]

2014-05-31 Thread David Riebenbauer
Created attachment 100040
[PATCH 2/2] Probe media that hasn't been probed by udev yet.

(In reply to comment #16)

> So it seems to assert in udiskslinuxfilesystem.c:623, which is:
> gassert (block == NULL);

Yeah, that really should have been, (block != NULL). That should teach
me not submit patches without reading over them a second time after a
good night's sleep.

Anyway, thanks for testing the both of you, and sorry for crashing your
udisks. I think this time I got it right.

Title:
fstab-based mounts not done as calling user

Status in abstraction for enumerating and managing block devices:
  Confirmed
Status in “udisks2” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
I like to keep my cdrom mountpoint stable, as /media/cdrom .. in
previous Ubuntu versions this was done by adding the following (or
  similar) to /etc/fstab:

  /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom udf,iso9660 ro,user,noauto,exec,utf8 0
  0

In 14.04, the CD-ROM gets correctly mounted on /media/cdrom, but I
cannot then unmount it from the command line:

  $ umount /media/cdrom
umount: only root can unmount /dev/cdrom from /media/cdrom

This appears to be the upstream bug:

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=63849

There is a patch included in that report which I have not yet tried.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1064195] Re: No permission to access files on storage device Ubuntu 12.04 does not allow me to access Floppy Drive

2013-12-10 Thread David Riebenbauer
FYI, I think I've tracked this bug down to it's cause, and submitted a
patch to upstream.
