[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1568604] Re: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics
I'm running Ubuntu Gnome 16.04, with gdm3. I do not have light-locker or xscreensaver installed. This happens almost every time that I fast switch to a different user. Pushing the mouse to the upper left corner (which shows the Activities Overview) and pressing Ctrl makes the cursor show up - every time. Pressing Super (which shows the Activities Overview) and nudging the mouse makes the cursor show up - every time. Nudging the mouse and then pressing Super makes the cursor show up. This combination - in just about any order - seems to reliably make the mouse reappear: * Move the mouse * Press a key * Show the activities overview -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1568604 Title: Mouse cursor lost when unlocking with Intel graphics Status in X.Org X server: Confirmed Status in xf86-video-intel: Fix Released Status in xserver-xorg-video-intel package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Cursor is visible at unlock screen either after returning from suspend or just locking. After unlocking screen cursor is invisible. Changing to vt1 then back to vt7 (ctrl+alt+f1 then ctrl+alt+f7) cursor returns no matter if you suspend or sleep, to swap or disk when you return from it, the mouse cursor is missing.you can still move the mouse and you can see (because it highlights the window) as you move it around. But the cursor is not displayed on the screen. i am using a lenovo W540 laptop. I downloaded the latest beta on april 8 2016. this is xubuntu using the xfce window manager. the cursor does return if i log off and log back in, but that actually defeats the purpose of going to sleep. --- ApportVersion: 2.20.1-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 16.04 InstallationDate: Installed on 2016-04-08 (2 days ago) InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 16.04 LTS "Xenial Xerus" - Beta amd64 (20160323) NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia_uvm nvidia_modeset nvidia Package: light-locker 1.7.0-2ubuntu1 PackageArchitecture: amd64 ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_US TERM=xterm PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-18.34-generic 4.4.6 Tags: xenial Uname: Linux 4.4.0-18-generic x86_64 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) UserGroups: _MarkForUpload: True To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/xorg-server/+bug/1568604/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

Instead, Evince does nothing, so you have to go to that page manually. It used to be the case that the current page also jumped to the first search result (if the current page does not have any), but not anymore. I guess these two bugs are related. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 997114] Re: Airplane Mode is turned on when WiFi is turned off, even though I don't want Airplane Mode: I want to use 3G
I am still affected by this bug on a fully updated precise. For me, this is completely unrelated to 3G. When I uncheck Enable Wireless in nm-applet, I cannot re-check it, and in Network Settings I see airplane mode is on, which cannot be disabled. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 996389] Re: NetworkManager unable to detect wifi when turning on hardware switch
For me, the problem began without touching the hardware switch, I merely turned off wifi in network manager. To me, this issue seems related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/997114 , since airplane mode was turned on when I turned wifi off. Once on, I cannot turn airplane mode back off, and consequently I can't turn wifi on. Found a workaround here http://askubuntu.com/questions/119195/cannot-disable-airplane-mode sudo rfkill list all shows that wifi is blocked sudo rfkill unblock all will unblock it. After that, wireless works again. Until you turn it off via network manager, or turn on airplane mode, then the problem reappears. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996389 Title: NetworkManager unable to detect wifi when turning on hardware switch Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: 1) Version Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 Using a HPmini1000 laptop. 2) network-manager: Installé : 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5.1 Candidat : 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5.1 Table de version : *** 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu5.1 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 0.9.1.90-0ubuntu3 0 500 http://fr.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages 3) What happens When turning on hardware switch for wifi, the network manager doesn't recognise the hardware (greyed entries for wifi). 4) What I expected I expected it to recognise the wifi equipment and start scanning for wifi networks. 5) More info Strangely enough, while reporting this bug (on a wired connection), the network manager started detecting wifi again.
