i found a way to reproduce

- wait for an automatic update manager prompt
- apply the updates (in the dock, the update-manager icon is twisting)
- when its done, close update-manager
- then the error start to appear in syslog

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1778946] Re: No dns resolution after closing a vpn/pptp connection

2018-09-05 Thread Emmanuel DA MOTA
seems related to the file /etc/ppp/ip-up.d/usepeerdns on line 23-24

cp -a "$REALRESOLVCONF" "$REALRESOLVCONF.pppd-backup.$PPP_IFACE"
mv -f "$REALRESOLVCONF.tmp" "$REALRESOLVCONF"

the cp command doesn't preserve file ownership

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1134060] [NEW] network-manager selects a random connection, not the last used

2013-02-27 Thread Emmanuel DA MOTA
Public bug reported:

Having multiple wired and wireless network settings. Using 1 wired and 1
wireless at the same time.

At startup, NM connects to networks that i don't want. Ethernet and
wireless networks Seems to be randomly selected.

I have to unckeck Automatically connects to this network when it's
available to prevent that but it's not very user friendly.

It should connect at the last network used. It worked like that before raring

At startup, NM connects to networks that i don't want. Ethernet and
wireless networks Seems to be randomly selected.

- It should connect at the last network used. It worked like that before
- raring
+ I have to unckeck Automatically connects to this network when it's
