[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1006985] Re: Display often fails to repaint

2012-06-23 Thread Exüberance
I've been using Advanced mode instead of Programming mode for a while
now, and have not encounter this bug under that settings, so it appears
to be exclusive to Programming mode

Title:
  Display often fails to repaint

Status in “gcalctool” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
Frequently, when performing a calculation, either by hitting enter on
the keyboard or by clicking the = sign, the display will fail to
update (it will still show the expression you typed in instead of the
answer) until you do something else to cause a repaint such as moving
  the window.

This does not happen every time, but if you keep clicking = enough
times, it will eventually happen a few times.

This beviour is not specific to the = key (it can sometimes decide to
stop update in the middle of typing a number), but it seems to be most
consitently reproducable with the = key.

I have only noticed this behaviour when the calculator is in
programming mode, but I don't use the other modes much at all.

This bug only occurs in the version of gcalctool in the Ubuntu 12.04
repositories. This bug is not present in the Ubuntu 11.10 version.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1010189] [NEW] Characters are no longer hilited when searching

2012-06-07 Thread Exüberance
Public bug reported:

In previous version of gucharmap, when you used Ctrl+F to search for a
character, the current match would have a hilighted background so you
can see which one it is.

In the current version on Ubuntu 12.04, this is no longer the case. The
display still scrolls to show the currently matched character, and the
text at the bottom-left shows the correct character, but the actual
entry is no longer highlighted.

** Affects: gucharmap (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1006985] Re: Display often fails to repaint

2012-06-03 Thread Exüberance
My graphics card is GeForce GTX 560M, and I am using the proprietary
version-current drivers.
The calculator is the only program in which I am experiencing screen refresh
issues.

If it's at all relevant, I'm using GNOME Classic with Compiz.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 981844] Re: Spell check does not check spelling.

2012-04-28 Thread Exüberance
myspell didn't work (was already installed), but installing hunspell-en-
ca did (that's for Canadian spelling, replace en-ca with whichever
language pack is appropriate for you, most likely en-ca, en-us. I don't
think there's a British English one for hunspell though.

Then restart LibreOffice.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 885592] Re: No parent folder button

2011-12-01 Thread Exüberance
This is an EXTREMELY annoying bug for me. I like using the text location
instead of breadcrumbs so that I can copy-paste file locations (which is
especially useful now that Nautilus no longer has the open location in
terminal option on the menu anymore), so there's no quick way to move
to a parent directory using the mouse. The back button only works if you
got to your current location via it's parent, which is often not the
case. The designers kind of pulled a Vista on this one :(
