[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1580376] Re: Update giflib Xenial Package to 5.1.4

2016-06-18 Thread Felix Bünemann
Martin: I can confirm that the giflib 5.1.4-0.3 packages in xenial-
proposed fix the reported problems.

Brian: How would those test cases look like?

Maybe this discussion is helpful:

I have build the 5.1.4-0.2 package on Xenial and can confirm that it
fixes both of the above mentioned problems.

The upstream bug report is: https://sourceforge.net/p/giflib/bugs/94/

  And fix release is 5.1.4.

Prepared 5.1.4, test built in the PPA ubuntu-toolchain-r/ppa, and
test-build all rdeps in main (emacs24 libgdiplus libwebp openjdk-8
  tracker).

Acceptance criteria: Builds, and tests succeed on all architectures.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1227747] Re: [xrandr]: gnome-settings-daemon crashed with signal 5 in _XReply()

Why can't the bug which this is a duplicate of be found? It is obviously
not fixed as I'm running Saucy daily build.

(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

GTK 2 themes is not working.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1184451] Re: Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites

2013-10-18 Thread Felix Bünemann
I'm also seeing frequent freezes on Nvidia Optimus muxless system when
using nvidia-prime and the nvidia drivers (no matter which version). I
think it doesn't happen when I remove the nvidia drivers and only use
the intel card.

Ubuntu 13.10 random screen freeze while Normal OS activites

Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I have recently, re-installed fresh ubuntu 13.10 distribution release.
But everything worked fine. until recently i had strange problem of my
display screen getting freezed randomly; but no response to either
mouse/keyboard.
But i want to point it out; it happens randomly and is not specific ?
Other day, i had music player playing in background, but screen freezed. but
my music was still running.
Kindly note, i used multiple monitor setup and same issue of screen freeze
also cropped up.

I,am not sure, whether it is bug ?

  thanks for the expertise support.
