*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1511735 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1511735 I believe libnl is to blame. I followed #7 at https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libnl3/+bug/1539513 who suggests downloading the 3 libnl-* on another machine and with a USB- stick transfer them and then sudo dpkg -i libnl*.deb After that I got networking working again. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1581617 Title: upgrade of libnl-genl-3-200 causes networkmanager to not load Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: This morning, before leaving for work, I saw there was a update available for a package in Ubuntu 14.04 (I do NOT have the -proposed repositories enabled). I installed it and shutdown. When I got to work, no internet (network-manager won't load, there's a general protection error in dmesg). Looking at the apt log /var/cache/apt/history , it looks like libnl- genl-3-200 was updated (and that was the *only* package that was updated). After loading up synaptic, there are other "upgradable" packages, none of which got installed (or were listed) when I upgraded libnl- genl-3-200: gir1.2-netowrkmanager-1.0 libmm-glib0 libnm-glib-vpn1 libnm-glib4 libnm-util2 modemmanager netowrk-manager However, without the internet, I can't get these packages! Please help! I *did* have an older version of libnl-genl-3-200 in /var/apt/cache/archives (from Jan 29), but installing this and restarting networkmanager (or the machine) does not fix the issue. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1100308] Re: gnome-control-center segment error during selection of image
The error might be related to bug 841280. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1100308] Re: gnome-control-center segment error during selection of image
This issue is reproducible and seems to be related to the user number. I had a user number in the /etc/passwd set to 300 and something. Now changing that to 1000 and with appropriate sudo chown -R myusername /home/myusername and sudo chgrp -R myusername /home/myusername I no longer get the error: the username is shown in lightdm, the username is shown in the upper right corner, I see my self in the User account is system settings, and pressing the icon does not generate a crash, but selects the icon alright. Before that I tried minimum-uid=300 in /etc/lightdm/users.conf but I did not get that to work. There seems to be multiple issues (including a crash) related to a too low user number. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1100308 Title: gnome-control-center segment error during selection of image Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: In Oneiric: $ gnome-control-center Press Brugerkonti (user accounts) Press on image icon select image - Segmentfejl (segmentation error) My user name does not show in gdm. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1045196] [NEW] Thunderbird menu item Move To under Message missing items
Public bug reported: Just security upgrading Thunderbird (related to http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-1551-1/) I no longer see the folders as menu items in the Move To and Copy To menu items in the Message menu item. :-( I have see them before.
