[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1314556] Re: Unable to mount Android MTP device

2014-10-15 Thread Giyomunice
Hi, This bug also affects me on ubuntu 14.04, whether I am on USB debugging
mode or not on my Xperia M2.
The phone detects the PC connection and tells me it is connected in MTP mode.
However nothing happens on the computer. When I try mtp-detect :
Unable to open ~/.mtpz-data for reading, MTPZ disabled.libmtp version: 1.1.6

Listing raw device(s)
   No raw devices found.

I don’t understand why it does not even see the device…

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 878198] Re: Difficult to grab window borders

2014-07-25 Thread Giyomunice
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 160311 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/160311

Hi,
Running Ubuntu 12.04 with unity, I found it VERY difficult and annoying to
resize a window by grabbing the edges, especially when I need to discuss my
work with other people and they try to grab the window to show me something.
Such a simple task should be easy for people using Ubuntu AND ESPECIALLY for
the ones who DON'T, so they don’t get a wrong prejudice on Ubnutu/Linux systems
before actually experiencing it. Unity is supposed to help democratizing Linux
systems if I’m right...
I tried some workarounds, they work fine but :
- as I said, people not using it everyday won’t know about AltF8, AltMiddle
- changing the visible borders via metacity works fine, but windows become very
ugly with a 3-8 px border.
So the point of comment #27 is right : visible borders and grabbable borders
are two different things, and both should exist.

Thank you for working on it, regards

Bug description:
In unity-2d it seems that window borders are only 1 pixel wide and are
therefore very difficult to grab for window resize.
In 3D it seems that a shadow extends the width of the border so the problem
does not occur.
