Hi, this is a known issue and we are working on rotating the keys of the
affected PPAs with 1024-bit RSA keys to 4096-bit RSA keys.

** No longer affects: libreoffice (Ubuntu)

** Changed in: launchpad
   Status: New => Confirmed

** Changed in: launchpad

Title:
apt key uses deprecated rsa1024 algorithm

Status in Launchpad itself:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Adding the apt key for `ppa:libreoffice/ppa` fails on newer systems

removed support for the rsa1024 algorithm.

I've inspected the key after adding it on a system that supports
  rsa1024.

  ```
  ```

Can the key be updated to use rsa4096?

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1954765] Re: Firefox instance opens with an unusable window that has the content area filled with the frozen image of the window/desktop image in the background

2022-02-22 Thread Guruprasad
This issue happened on a laptop of mine with a hybrid GPU setup. It
reliably went away after I switched my GPU settings from 'Intel (Power
saving mode)' to 'NVIDIA On-Demand'. I am not sure why that is the case.
I got the solution within a week or so after I reported this bug. So
yes, this issue is not happening any more.

If it will help, I can switch to the 'Intel (Power saving mode)' and
test if the issue happens again.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1954765] [NEW] Firefox instance opens with an unusable window that has the content area filled with the frozen image of the window/desktop image in the background

2021-12-14 Thread Guruprasad
Public bug reported:

After a recent Firefox update (I think this started after the Firefox 95
upgrade), opening Firefox often opens a window with a visible title bar
that indicates that the application in focus is Firefox but the content
area is invisible because it has the frozen image/background of either
the windows/application behind the Firefox window or the desktop
background image if there are no windows behind Firefox.

The Firefox shortcut keys work and I am able to open a site by pressing
Ctrl+L to focus the address bar and type a domain name/URL. The
website/URL loads okay but nothing is visible because of the content
area being hidden by the frozen image.

Resizing/minimizing+maximizing the Firefox window doesn't resolve this
issue. However, when I launch Firefox from the terminal, it works
properly every single time. So it looks like there might be some issue
only when launching from the Firefox application launcher (.desktop
file).

This issue went away on disabling the display of seconds and then re-
enabling it. Will check if this persists across reboots and report here
if I see the issue again.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1545797] [NEW] Pidgin does not login to Freenode IRC in spite of saving password

2016-02-15 Thread Guruprasad
Public bug reported:

I have configured my irc.freenode.net account on Pidgin (using TLS and
port 6697) and saved the account credentials so that I am logged in
automatically. The login works only for the first time after adding the
account. But Pidgin doesn't log me in from the 2nd time of opening
Pidgin.

I have the 30 seconds limit to authenticate as my user to Freenode and
Pidgin does nothing at to authentication. Manually authenticating using
a command like '/msg NickServ identify ' within the 30 seconds
works fine.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1542469] [NEW] Horizontal lines show up when scrolling

2016-02-05 Thread Guruprasad
Public bug reported:

When scrolling in Transmission main window, 2 fixed horizontal lines
show up on top of the scrolling content - 1 near the top and the other
near the bottom. One reaching either end and trying to scroll further,
the line on the corresponding end tries to move further towards the

Status in “gwibber” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
With an up to date Oneiric beta (as of 10 Oct), the scrollbar in the
Gwibber window is simply missing. No visible scrollbar, and a the
mouse wheel movement doesn't scroll either. If you resize the window
to make it smaller (in an attempt to force a scrollbar to appear), it
doesn't appear - you just cut off the bottom of the window instead.

2011-09-30 Thread Guruprasad
Killing gnome-screensaver prevents this problem, but on reboot, I have
to remember to kill it again. Also the user status icon keeps changing
to away when the display dims. But after killing gnome-screensaver, the
user status icon still keeps changing.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 847911] Re: Scrollbars disappear when opening a new tab in the gnome-terminal window

2011-09-12 Thread Guruprasad
Not always reproducible, but happens randomly which could mean issues
with the desktop environment/unity/gtk rather than gnome-terminal.
