[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1207796] [NEW] broken modes for external samsung monitor on laptop
Public bug reported: More than a month ago the ubuntu updates broke modes that used to work on my external monitor, SyncMaster SA350. I manually add 1920x1080@60Hz just to get it to work. none of the selected modes were compatible with the possible modes: Trying modes for CRTC 63 CRTC 63: trying mode 1024x768@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 63: trying mode 800x600@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 63: trying mode 800x600@56Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 63: trying mode 848x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 63: trying mode 640x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 63: trying mode 1024x768@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 63: trying mode 800x600@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 63: trying mode 800x600@56Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 63: trying mode 848x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 63: trying mode 640x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) Trying modes for CRTC 64 CRTC 64: trying mode 1024x768@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 64: trying mode 800x600@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 64: trying mode 800x600@56Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 64: trying mode 848x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 64: trying mode 640x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 0) CRTC 64: trying mode 1024x768@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 64: trying mode 800x600@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 64: trying mode 800x600@56Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 64: trying mode 848x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) CRTC 64: trying mode 640x480@60Hz with output at 1920x1080@60Hz (pass 1) ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.04 Package: xorg 1:7.7+1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.8.0-27.40-generic 3.8.13.4 Uname: Linux 3.8.0-27-generic i686 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.9.2-0ubuntu8.1 Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: compiz CompositorUnredirectDriverBlacklist: '(nouveau|Intel).*Mesa 8.0' CompositorUnredirectFSW: true Date: Fri Aug 2 08:34:58 2013 DistUpgraded: 2013-05-07 16:24:53,170 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: raring DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0046] (rev 12) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:0004] InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-03-15 (139 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.10 "Quantal Quetzal" - Release i386 (20121017.2) MachineType: TOSHIBA PORTEGE M780 MarkForUpload: True PlymouthDebug: Error: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/var/log/plymouth-debug.log' ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, no user) XDG_RUNTIME_DIR= LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.8.0-27-generic root=UUID=02c9a4f6-ed80-4146-ab17-c91262fe1a0c ro plymouth:debug splash quiet nopat drm.debug=0xe SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to raring on 2013-05-07 (86 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 12/16/2011 dmi.bios.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.bios.version: Version 2.30 dmi.board.asset.tag: 00 dmi.board.name: Portable PC dmi.board.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.board.version: Version A0 dmi.chassis.asset.tag: 00 dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: TOSHIBA dmi.chassis.version: Version 1.0 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnTOSHIBA:bvrVersion2.30:bd12/16/2011:svnTOSHIBA:pnPORTEGEM780:pvrPPM78U-03600X:rvnTOSHIBA:rnPortablePC:rvrVersionA0:cvnTOSHIBA:ct10:cvrVersion1.0: dmi.product.name: PORTEGE M780 dmi.product.version: PPM78U-03600X dmi.sys.vendor: TOSHIBA version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.9~daily13.06.19~13.04-0ubuntu1 version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.43-0ubuntu1.1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 9.1.3-0ubuntu0.3 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 9.1.3-0ubuntu0.3 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.13.3-0ubuntu6 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.7.3-0ubuntu2b2 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.1.0-0ubuntu2 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.21.6-0ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.7-0ubuntu1 xserver.bootTime: Fri Aug 2 08:18:33 2013 xserver.configfile: default xserver.errors: Serial Wacom Tablet stylus: Invalid type 'cursor' for this device. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 680771] Re: Cannot determine file location after search in Nautilus
Now I see the full path could easily be put in this text window, but instead a truncated version with "..." appended is put here instead! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/680771 Title: Cannot determine file location after search in Nautilus Status in One Hundred Paper Cuts: Triaged Status in Nautilus: Confirmed Status in “nautilus” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Bug description: When searching for a file in Nautilus and then right-click to view Properties to determine the location, the full path to the file is obscured by the size of the Properties window. The Properties window cannot be sized, neither can the file path text be scrolled to the left to reveal the full path.
