Title:
  Print is failed via USB

Status in cups package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Phenomenon:
After installing the driver (such as RICOH IM C6000 PS) via USB protocol, it
can be printed at the first time, but after the second or multiple times, the
job will be canceled.

  Comment:
1.Wait a few minutes and the job still won't be printed.
2.After unplugging in and plugging in the USB cable, the job can be printed
3.The problem does not occur via network printing.
4.Other systems (such as Windows, Mac OS) do not have this problem.

  Our analysis:
1.We think that part of the data was lost via USB transmission

2.In CUPS ErrorLog, the job has been delivered completely.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1870827]

2020-04-25 Thread Eric Jiang
Dennis: there was a workaround posted in this bug thread that may help
you, namely, upgrade libfontconfig1 to 2.13.*. I am also on Ubuntu
18.04/Firefox 75 and this bug isn't causing me problems now. You will
probably have to grab a newer libfontconfig deb from a later release of
Ubuntu.

Title:
Firefox hangs after simultaneously opening Chrome/Electron-based
  applications

Status in Mozilla Firefox:
  Fix Released
Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
When opening Chrome/Electron-based applications while Firefox is open,
Firefox' tab contents stop responding, and it becomes necessary to close
Firefox and reopen it.
  This includes:
  - VSCode: https://code.visualstudio.com/download
  - Atom: https://atom.io
  - Chromium browser

Here's a link to a screenshot that shows Firefox with a "loading"
waiting icon on the center of the tab (applies to any other open tab)

  https://imgur.com/PHHr3zt.png

This has been happening since Ubuntu 14.04, but my previous report was
quickly dismissed.
I've done fresh installs for 14.04, 16.04 and 18.04, and the problem persists
ever since.

  OS: Ubuntu
Release: 18.04 LTS (other 18.04-based distros such as elementaryOS exhibit
the same behavior)

Firefox: 74.0.1, 64-bit (although the problem happens since 32-bit
  60.x or even earlier)

Current Hardware: Lenovo ThinkPad T410s: Intel i5 540M processor,
  NVidia NVS3100M graphics, 8Gb RAM, 480Gb SSD

  # Expected behavior
While Firefox is open, any Chrome/Electron-based application that is opened
works without affecting Firefox, either loaded before or after it.

  # Observed behavior
While Firefox is open, any Chrome/Electron-based application that is opened
hangs Firefox, as observed according to the screenshot link provided above.

Note that if Firefox is loaded *after* Chrome/Electron-based apps, the
  above described behavior isn't exhibited.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 313514]

2013-05-01 Thread Adam Jiang
This issue blocks me to enjoy my new keyboard which has ZOOMIN/OUT and
SPELLCHECK keys.

I have read through this thread. It seems we are facing manpower issues
to get it fixed. I'd like to try to help on this if I can get mentor
from you guys.

Another idea is about getting keycode > 255 by Xi2. Is this could be
considered a shortcut to avoud protocol breaking. Shall we give a try on
it?

Title:
MASTER: evdev driver ignores keycodes > 255

Status in The Linux Kernel:
  Confirmed
Status in “xorg-server” package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-input-evdev

  package Version: 1:2.0.99+git20080912-0ubuntu5
  Ubuntu 8.10

Keyboards can use keycodes that go above 255. See
http://lxr.linux.no/linux+v2.6.28/include/linux/input.h
These are often multimedia keys for keyboards and remotes.

These are ignored by the evdev driver:
  gimble:~/xserver-xorg-input-evdev-2.0.99+git20080912$ grep 255 src/evdev.c
  if (code > 255 && ev->code < KEY_MAX) {
  /* The X server can't handle keycodes > 255 anyway, just drop them.  */

Which means they never reach X and therefore cannot be used in anyway.

The only workaround at the minute would be to use input-kdb to remap
all keys for an input device to values lower than 255.

I would like to confirm this bug too.

Whole X desktop freezed after DnD is done from file roller with an error
message complaining about the permission:
