[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1414707] Re: Login fails, returns to login and flickering prevents password typing

2015-02-20 Thread Jiri Grönroos
I too have this issue with a fresh vivid installation. In my case this
isn't a virtual machine. Booting with the default options, logging into
Gnome Shell from gdm, and bam, the screen is locked instantly. Lock
screen flickers and gives authentication error.

I bypassed this problem by going into tty and restarting gdm (sudo
service gdm restart). Second login attempt doesn't lock the session
instantly. I can also confirm that by selecting the systemd boot option
the issue doesn't persist.

There's something in dmesg when booting without systemd, but with
systemd the following dmesg output doesn't exist:

dmesg |grep logind

[6.988059] systemd-logind[1754]: Watching system buttons on
/dev/input/event1 (Power Button)
[6.988085] systemd-logind[1754]: Watching system buttons on

[6.990545] systemd-logind[1754]: Failed to start user service: Unknown
unit: user@120.service
[6.992441] systemd-logind[1754]: New session c1 of user gdm.
[ 21.103729] systemd-logind[1754]: Failed to start user service: Unknown
unit: user@1000.service
[ 21.105989] systemd-logind[1754]: New session c2 of user myusername.
[ 56.858239] systemd-logind[1754]: Removed session c1.
[ 63.669131] systemd-logind[1754]: New session c3 of user gdm.
[ 70.428732] systemd-logind[1754]: New session c4 of user myusername.

[ 56.858239] systemd-logind[1754]: Removed session c1. - this is the
output when restarting gdm from tty.

Hopefully this helps a little bit.

Bug description:
I was testing Ubuntu Gnome 15.04 in VirtualBox. I was able to login
into the machine a few times and run updates and install a few
programs. I also installed the VirtualBox guest additions. Since today
  this happens:

I log into the machine. The login is accepted and the machine does
something for a few seconds. Then the machine jumps back to login, but
with a random flickering. The flickering also resets the password
field, which prevents it from being typed.

So I can't login into the machine anymore.

I am using a HP Probook 6570 b which I upgraded to 16 GB of RAM. The
iso was from the 20th of January, but I did a daily sudo apt-get
  upgrade on it.

I can reproduce this as told in bug 1011163. Right click still works in
View source window but immediately after closing the said window,
right click stops working in FX.

Then I installed the debug version of FX from your PPA. The bug wasn't
reproducible (by View source method) in the first tab I opened but
after opening a second tab and trying again, the bug occured. Here's the
output:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1010466] Re: dropdown boxes on sites stop working

2012-06-12 Thread Jiri Grönroos
@10 Yes, one per an attempt. I also found a way which triggers this. If
I use keyboard shortcuts to open and close the View source window
(Ctrl+U, Ctrl+W), the bug doesn't get triggered. The bug triggers when I
close the View source window from window's Close button.

suspen, hibernate and shutdown, confirmation dialog is shown, but
focus stays on the password input below the dialog.

Therefore interacting with the dialog using TAB, arrow keys and Enter
  seems to be impossible.

  Package version: 1.0.6-0ubuntu1.2

  Steps to reproduce:

  1. In login greeter press F10 to access shutdown menu
  2. Select shutdown option using arrow keys and enter
  3. Notice that confirmation dialog pops up, but focus stays in the password
input

Expected result: Focus should be in confirmation dialog so it could be
canceled with Esc, or items selected with TAB + enter

Actual result: Interacting with dialog is impossible with keyboard.
(At least with conventional arrows, tab, esc, enter keys)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 45849] Re: Include this OOo Writer report template

2011-09-16 Thread Jiri Grönroos
Forgot to mention but this is where you should add your template: http
://templates-test.libreoffice.org/

Hopefully some helpful people will pick the most useful templates and
pack them into a proper Debian package so that we can install the best
templates straight from Ubuntu's repositories.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 45849] Re: Include this OOo Writer report template

2011-09-15 Thread Jiri Grönroos
Thanks for your template, Pascal. LibreOffice devs are working on a new
template repository. Hopefully LibreOffice will include at least a few
usable templates by default in future releases. Currently the templates
included in Oneiric are non-existent or very old/unprofessional. If
templates can't be included in default installation, there should be an
extra package which would contain usable set of templates.

I'd like to see your template updated to use Ubuntu font and included in
future releases. Hence I'm marking this as also affects project
Libreoffice.

Bug description:
Hello. It seems that there is a bug in network-manager which for some
reason does not permit packets to be moved through the 3G modem
interface it has set up. Network-manager can get the IP address
settings right from DHCP but even pinging the gateway fails. Wvdial
works 100 % and it is a workaround. Many people have huawei 3g modems
and this is a very annoying bug.
