Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1860424] Re: Microsoft sculpt ergonomic mouse doesn't work on Ubuntu 18.04.3

2020-01-24 Thread João Gabriel
It seems to have been solved after logging in Ubuntu on Wayland.
Now I am on default Ubuntu and nothing is happening anymore.
I continue testing it.

** Description changed:

I cannot work with my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse on Ubuntu
  18.04.3.

It worked normally on Ubuntu 16.04, but now it presents a lot of
  instabilities.

I can move the pointer but cannot click anything. The scroll doesn't
  work too.

When I change the mouse to another one, it works normally.

The instability doesn't shows itself immediately. The mouse works for
some seconds, and then the systems stops to respond to some of its
  commands.

The mouse is working normally in Windows.

Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
I cannot work with my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse on Ubuntu
  18.04.3.

It worked normally on Ubuntu 16.04, but now it presents a lot of
  instabilities.

I can move the pointer but cannot click anything. The scroll doesn't
  work too.

When I change the mouse to another one, it works normally.

The instability doesn't shows itself immediately. The mouse works for
some seconds, and then the systems stops to respond to some of its
  commands.

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1860424] Re: Microsoft sculpt ergonomic mouse doesn't work on Ubuntu 18.04.3

2020-01-24 Thread João Gabriel
The mouse didn't stopped responding, but changed scroll wheel behavior. It
is too sensitive, jumping the page, making it impossible to be used.
Running in Wayland it maintains its normal behavior.

Microsoft sculpt ergonomic mouse doesn't work on Ubuntu 18.04.3

Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
I cannot work with my Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse on Ubuntu
  18.04.3.

It worked normally on Ubuntu 16.04, but now it presents a lot of
  instabilities.

I can move the pointer but cannot click anything. The scroll doesn't
  work too.

When I change the mouse to another one, it works normally.

The instability doesn't shows itself immediately. The mouse works for
some seconds, and then the systems stops to respond to some of its
  commands.

The mouse is working normally in Windows.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1709713] Re: Libreoffice freezes

2017-08-10 Thread João Gabriel
About the reference to bug #1706605:

I was experiencing this instability before.

Someone found that it was related to Oracle Java. I removed it and
reinstalled OpenJDK.

With that, it got more reliable.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1709713] Re: Libreoffice freezes

2017-08-10 Thread João Gabriel
It started this week. I was with Writer opened.

Until now I can see two different behaviors.

Sometimes libreoffice crashes and reopen asking to recover my files.

Other times, my computer freezes completely. Sometimes I could restart
with CTRL+ALT+DEL, others I need to hard reset.

I'll continue checking it and when I get more information I'll improve
the report.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1698391] Re: Libreoffice is Frequently Crashing

2017-06-24 Thread João Gabriel
No it doesn't give any crash report. It only close libreoffice and open
the dialog to recover my files.

In /var/crash there isn't anything related to libreoffice. The only
files is:

"_usr_lib_jvm_java-8-oracle_bin_java.1000.crash"
"_usr_lib_jvm_java-8-oracle_bin_java.1000.upload"
"_usr_lib_jvm_java-8-oracle_bin_java.1000.uploaded"
".lock"

This about java was created 3 days ago.

In /etc/default/apport we have:

# set this to 0 to disable apport, or to 1 to enable it
# you can temporarily override this with
# sudo service apport start force_start=1
enabled=1

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1698534] [NEW] Network-manager crashing

2017-06-17 Thread João Gabriel
Public bug reported:

My Network Manager was working well, but in 15/jun/17, I lost
controlability over my hardware.

Now I can activate wifi through network-manager icon, but it doesn't
display any network.

I can see it is activated through command line:

nmcli -f in-use,ssid,bssid,signal,bars dev wifi

* SSID BSSID SINAL BARRAS

I can even connect to a network through command line:

nmcli d wifi connect 14:D6:4D:39:8D:85

Dispositivo "wlp2s0" ativado com sucesso com "85fcc7fb-60bd-47af-

64 bytes from 192.168.1.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=4.11 ms

But through graphical interface I cannot operate it.

When I'm connected through WiFi, the network-manager icon has changed.

Before the bug, it presented the common wifi icon, showing signal
intensity of the connection.

Now it is presenting the icon of ethernet connection, when connect
through WiFi.

When I open Network Connections and exclude some network, it doesn't remove it
from the list until I close the window and open it again.

I have made an update on 14/jun, in the night. During all day of 15/jun I used
my network without any problem. In the end of the say the problem began.

The packages updated were:

Start-Date: 2017-06-14 20:36:07 Commandline: /usr/bin/unattended-upgrade
Upgrade: libgnutls-openssl27:amd64 (3.4.10-4ubuntu1.2,

54.0+build3-0ubuntu0.16.04.1) End-Date: 2017-06-14 20:41:18

I have tried loading my previous kernel version (linux-image-4.8.0-53-generic),
but it doesn't change the wrong behavior.

Restarting network-manager, reestablish normal behavior. But after
suspend-awake, sometimes the bug returns.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1698389] [NEW] Libreoffice Calc is slowing down when working with big cells

2017-06-16 Thread João Gabriel
Public bug reported:

I'm experiencing Libreoffice Calc slowing down when working with large
cells.

My file in libreoffice calc is a little bit worked out, with more than
10 spreadsheets, with formulas and automatic formatting. Not too
complex, but with some details.

In one of the spreadsheets, I have large cells, almost 20, with more
than 10 lines in each cell.

In this spreadsheet, libreoffice calc becomes too lazy. When I click one
of this big cells, it takes almost 10 seconds to select it.

When I close and reopen it, it becomes fast again, but just for some
time. After some use, it's slows down again.

I have the costume to suspend my computer with my spreadsheet opened.
The problem can be related to suspend/awake process, but I don't have
any evidence in this sense.

I have tried some solutions:

- Reinstalled libreoffice from Ubuntu Repository
- Checked my video card instalation (somebody said that could be lack of OpenGL
support)
- Installed last version from ppa:libreoffice/ppa

None of those solved it.

My system details are:

- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS
- Libreoffice Version: 5.1.6.2

Along with that, Libreoffice is crashing without giving any evidence of
what cause it and without reporting the error.

 Importance: Undecided

Title:
Steam game began crashing 2014-09-12 (cross-post Source bugtracker)

Status in steam package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in xorg package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I am cross-posting this issue, which I reported to Valve's Source GIT
issue tracker, because it was suggested that the regression may be due
to Ubuntu Xorg changes rather than changes on the Steam end.

  Link: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Source-1-Games/issues/1822

  Symptom --
DoD:Source loads normally. But after a few minutes of playing (not a specific
time as far as I can tell), the game freezes in place. A short clip (maybe a
quarter of a second) of the last audio that played then repeats over and over
on a loop. The process has to be killed manually with a QUIT or HUP signal for
good measure. This is a new issue that just arose today.

I have included system info, kernel log, and output when game is run
  from terminal and crashes.

  Symptom --
DoD:Source loads normally.
