[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1815046] [NEW] Onboard Virtual Keyboard crashes KDE Plasma

2019-02-07 Thread Joe Linux
Public bug reported:

Onboard completely crashes KDE Plasma. It has happened before, I
thought it was corrected, but then the crash is back when trying to
select a French accented "e". It crashes the entire desktop, and you
are brought to the login screen.

** Affects: onboard (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1672465] Re: Onboard doesn't work in Wayland

2018-12-05 Thread Joe Linux
I don't know if I'm running Wayland, but it is the most recent version
of Kubuntu as it comes out of the box. Unfortunately Onboard crashes
the entire desktop. If you try to type one Onboard french character,
the desktop turns black and you eventually are brought to the login
screen and have to login with a password. I hope this can be fixed as
Onboard is very important to me.

Onboard at least shows the keyboard now in GNOME on Wayland. But it

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1401792] Re: nvidia-331-uvm 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331-uvm kernel module failed to build

2015-07-19 Thread Joe Linux
Hello Folks,

This is occurring all the time with each and every single kernel auto update.
This is just nightmare since months and months!
This is affecting all my Ubuntu 14.04.x LTS distributions including Studio as
well. LTS is supposed to be the most stable Ubuntu version. So, what the non
LTS could be!

THE solution is more than the welcome. Seriously thinking to give up and
move definitively all my machines (with Nvidia) to an other major
distribution where the developers are understanding what they are doing
and the issue the users are facing to.

Thanks. Joe

Hello,

Same shit since few months with again and again each new kernel update on my
Ubuntu 14.04.1 64-b full install.
I'm only using the official Ubuntu update channel.
Fortunately this version is a LTS one, if not guess what.
Who said Windoze ! Linux is not so far !

Cheers

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1401515] Re: nvidia-331 331.113-0ubuntu0.0.4: nvidia-331 kernel module failed to build

2014-12-11 Thread Joe Linux
Hello Everybody,

I confirmed I got the same problem just now.

I'm running a full install since April 2014:
- Release: Ubuntu 14.04.1 (trusty) - update from 14.04
- Gnome: 3.8.4 (Ubuntu 2014-03-17)
- Kernel: 3.13.0-32-generic (#57-Ubuntu SMP Tue Jul 15 03:51:08 UTC 2014)
- GCC: 4.8 (x86_64-linux-gnu)
- Xorg: 1.15.1 (09 December 2014 11:14:53PM)
- Operating System: Linux-x86_64
- NVIDIA Driver Version: 331.113 (previous was I think 311.48)

One or two day ago, it was an update of the proprietary nvidia driver to
311.113 and everything went well.
This evening a new update and I got the error message in the message title.
I have not rebooted yet, so I don't know if after that my system will be still
running or not !

Thanks (not for the PB but the solution).

Seen clearly by opening vlc going either
 Media open disc
 or
Tools Preferences clicking on 'Show settings all'
If it doesn't occur the 1st time, then repeat
Removing overlay-scrollbar* this doesn't occur, or switching qt to another
gui like cleanlooks, just like before
(if removing overlay-scrollbar* to test make sure all 3 packages are removed
 or you'll not be happy

May be best to wait for A1 to re-open or file new?
