[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1652585] Re: Fonts are borken after suspend/resume somtimes
I can give that a try, but I'm not sure I can reproduce this issue in Unity. Do the daily builds have the option of running XFCE? Also, it could be a while until I can confirm this, I don't have an easy test case. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1652585 Title: Fonts are borken after suspend/resume somtimes Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: Occasionally, when coming out of a suspend and getting past the light locker screen, font rendering broken. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1652585] [NEW] Fonts are borken after suspend/resume somtimes
Public bug reported: Occasionally, when coming out of a suspend and getting past the light locker screen, font rendering broken. Application windows are missing most but not all letters, and text for icons on the desktop is blurry. Already open terminal windows won't have any text, but sometimes opening a new terminal window does have working text for the terminal, even though the text in the menu bar is broken. Programs like Thunderbird often still display text unless they are forced to re-render the window, at which point the fonts also disappear. Firefox still renders web pages but is missing the text in the menu bars. This seems similar to bug #1434351 to me, but I was asked by Christopher Penalver to open a new bug, so here we go. I'm currently running with an xorg.conf suggested as a workaround for #1434351, the bug itself manifested with the default Xorg settings (no xorg.conf file). But as the bug only occurs occasionally, it's too early to say if the workaround actually works. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1434351] Re: X fonts and widgets disappear after suspend/resume cycle
This still happens. Unfortunately, calling `apport-collect -p xorg 1434351` fails with a popup that is unreadable because fonts are not rendering, so I have no idea what it is complaining about. ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => Confirmed ** Tags added: apport-collected ubuntu -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xorg in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434351 Title: X fonts and widgets disappear after suspend/resume cycle Status in xorg package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After a suspend/resume cycle, the screen comes up normally, but every time I move my mouse over a piece of text, button, widget, etc, the text vanishes and it's replaced by a plain rectangle. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1226932] Re: Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi with Saved Password
Happens to me on 14.04 as well. As I don't have a hardware switch for the WiFi, I just sudo killall NetworkManager, which also fixes it for a while. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1226932 Title: Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi with Saved Password Status in “network-manager” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: It's been months. Before this my Wi-Fi used to work fine. Now I cannot connect to Wi-Fi at my office as long as I let Ubuntu remember the password. The Wi-Fi Network Authentication Required dialog keeps popping up asking me to enter my password. It's acting like when you enter a wrong password. And yes, I am sure the password is correct. Because if I select Ask for this password every time, then usually it connects without a problem after I enter the same password. I guess it's worth mentioning that it still fails sometimes, even I let it ask for password. It just keeps failing and asking for password again and again. In such cases I turn off the WLAN adapter with the hardware switch, and then turn it back on. This usually fixes it. This only happens at office. Everything works fine at home. And my Android phone connects to the same office Wi-Fi without a problem.
