[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1508146] Re: Alt+left/right arrows switch between tty consoles (Gnome Shell vanishes), cannot disable
At the peril of adding another Me Too comment, this happened to me on 18.04.1 sudo kbd_mode -s has fixed it for me. There are two relevant things that I have been running on my system before this happened. 1) I have synergy installed, to share my keyboard and mouse to another computer (installed recently) 2) I was playing with /dev/uinput [0] [0] https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/422698/how-to-set-absolute-mouse-cursor-position-in-wayland-without-using-mouse -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1508146 Title: Alt+left/right arrows switch between tty consoles (Gnome Shell vanishes), cannot disable Status in gdm3 package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in lightdm package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in mutter package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I'm used to using alt+left/right arrow to navigate back and forward in web browsers and elsewhere (nautilus)... But on this fresh install of Ubuntu Gnome 15.10 beta, it seems to try and switch me between tty consoles (the ctrl+alt+f1 ones). But it's not listed as one of the shortcuts in the "keyboard" menu, so I don't know how to disable it... [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1573959] Re: On-screen text disappears after suspend
Adding my 'Me Too' to get updates: lspci -nn | grep VGA 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 4th Gen Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller [8086:0416] (rev 06) As reported above, it's usually about 1 in 10 or so (or less) suspend- resume cycles. I hate to log out/reboot and lose my work state, so this is really frustrating. I can participate in some bug-test kernel cycles. Perhaps we don't know which commit in 4.8 resolves, but if we have enough people - we can do a wide-spread 'bisect' by tasking multiple people to test particular versions, and see if the issue arises over a period of a couple of weeks or such. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573959 Title: On-screen text disappears after suspend Status in xserver-xorg-video-intel package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: After resuming from a suspend, almost all text on screen is not visible. More distinctly, you can enter either an incorrect or correct password, and it will respond with "invalid password" This leaves the user feeling quite dismayed, and concerned as to what is being authenticated with my credentials. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1312011] Re: lsb_release -a reports a different version than that listed on the details window
Ok - a little bit of exploration - and its clear that both myself and john-bell (from his screenshot) are using gnome-shell, instead of unity When I manually launch (unity-control-center) - the details tab declares that I am on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS When I launch gnome-control-center - which is what Gnome launches when I run through the gnome menus, the 'details' tab there declares that I am on 13.10. So perhaps this bug's package should be changed to 'gnome-control- center' Certainly explains the irregularity - and perhaps makes me feel at ease that the installation was not as borked as I thought it might have been -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to unity-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1312011 Title: lsb_release -a reports a different version than that listed on the details window Status in “unity-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: On the details window accessed from system settings it reports ubuntu as 13.10. lsb_release -a gives the correct version as 14.04 lts on the command line.
