This is still broken in Kubuntu, as of 22.10. I use LO & Thunderbird. The preliminary steps happen, such as creating a PDF--if requested. Some of this may still be cups related. My OKI 331dn now installs with duplex defaulting to off. Problem is, when that's the case, the printer dialog can't be set to duplex on--it's greyed-out. If I change the default to duplex on, then the user can change the setting. Most of these problems were fixed by replacing NetworkManager with WICD. NetworkManager was actually losing the connection with the printers, even though I could surf the net all day long. Note to self: Never, never, never leave the default NetworkManager installed. I am still seeing Filter Failed with most PDF's on the OKI. I observed this problem when using Simple Scan in this environment. The problem is that exo-open does not support the mailto URI. Versions this problem occurs in === Xubuntu 13.04 uses version 1.0.2 of xdg-utils. This problem also occurs in 1.1.0 rc1 of xdg-utils. How to reproduce Run xdg-email from command line in Xubuntu 13.04 instead of the mail client being displayed you get an error dialog as discussed above. Fix == I have located the source of the problem and submitted patches for both 1.0.2 and 1.1.0rc1 upstream.
