[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1899667] Re: LO can't send email, probably an apparmour problem

2023-02-06 Thread LanceHaverkamp
This is still broken in Kubuntu, as of 22.10. I use LO & Thunderbird.
The preliminary steps happen, such as creating a PDF--if requested. But
the email application (Thunderbird in my case) is never called.

  I'm pretty sure this is an apparmour profile problem since LO seems to
  want RW perms on something and AA seems not to want to give it. There
  lies the full extent on mu debugging expertise in this area.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1212621] Re: Duplex option disappearing in the GTK print dialog

2014-09-05 Thread LanceHaverkamp
Some of this may still be cups related. My OKI 331dn now installs with
duplex defaulting to off. Problem is, when that's the case, the printer
dialog can't be set to duplex on--it's greyed-out.

If I change the default to duplex on, then the user can change the
setting.

Setting the default behavior to simplex shouldn't eliminate user choice;
but it does.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1337583] Re: various odd errors on all LAN printers

2014-08-26 Thread LanceHaverkamp
Most of these problems were fixed by replacing NetworkManager with WICD.
NetworkManager was actually losing the connection with the printers,
even though I could surf the net all day long.

Note to self: Never, never, never leave the default NetworkManager
installed.

I am still seeing Filter Failed with most PDF's on the OKI. As that's
unrelated, I guess I should close this open a new ticket?

Status in Evince document viewer:

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed
Status in “evince” package in Fedora:
  New

Bug description:
  Binary package hint: evince

  Askubuntu user sdaau reports the following [1]:

  This is my problem:

  Open a document in Evince, choose Print
  Choose Printer: Print to file
  Choose Output Format: PDF
  (add a filename output.pdf in the box if not there)
  Click on Print
  Experience the following message:

   Failed to print document.
   Printing is not supported on this printer.

  By the way, printing to an Output Format .ps file works fine.

  I can reproduce this bug trying to print a PS file to PDF.
  Sample file is attached, created with LibreOffice 3.3 on Natty.

  evince 2.32.0-0ubuntu12.1
  libreoffice-calc 1:3.3.2-1ubuntu4
  Ubuntu 11.04 fresh install with all ~/.* user settings copied from 10.10
installation.

Nifty, glad it's got a fix for future version. Now, where is the update
for 13.04?

Title:
  xdg-email fails to load mail client

Status in “xdg-utils” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
  Environment
  ==

  In Xubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail) xdg-email fails and presents an
  error dialog stating 'Unable to detect the URI-scheme of mailto:;.'.

  I observed this problem when using Simple Scan in this environment.

  The problem is that exo-open does not support the mailto URI.

  Versions this problem occurs in
  ===

  Xubuntu 13.04 uses version 1.0.2 of xdg-utils.

  This problem also occurs in 1.1.0 rc1 of xdg-utils.

  How to reproduce

  Run xdg-email from command line in Xubuntu 13.04 instead of the mail
  client being displayed you get an error dialog as discussed above.

  Fix
  ==

  I have located the source of the problem and submitted patches for
  both 1.0.2 and 1.1.0rc1 upstream. See the following bug report for
  details.

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67979

  Thank you.
