I can confirm that.

CUPS got 100% CPU in an environment where i've some KONICA-MINOLTA MFP,
and i've the same errors in logs:

Note that i move my PC between at least 3 environment (home, work site

i've KONICA-MINOLTA MFP i got 100% CPU.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1687436] Re: cupsd uses 100% CPU

2019-03-06 Thread Marco Gaiarin
I think i'm hitting this bug too.

cups go CPU 100%, until i restart them.

Ubuntu Bionic, cups 2.2.7-1ubuntu2.3, cups-filters 1.20.2-0ubuntu3.

I can safely install disco packages on bionic? There will be some
backports? Or some workaround for bionic.

Thanks.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1779846] Re: Pressing Alt+Backslash locks up all windows (no focus)

2018-07-06 Thread Marco Gaiarin
> First, please try removing these shell extensions:

A-Ha! Sorry, i've played with some extensions and never minded about
them.

I've disabled (it suffices, it was not needed to uninstall them)
'system-monitor' and 'windows-alt-tab' and problem desappear.

Many thanks and sorry for that bug report!

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1777318] [NEW] GDM3 completely ignore pam_group

2018-06-17 Thread Marco Gaiarin
Public bug reported:

I'm using some ubuntu machine in a network where users data came from
LDAP.

I've setup PAM/NSS to use LDAP account and all works as expected.
Apart assigning local group to users, via pam_group.

I've added to /etc/pam.d/common-auth (to the end):
 authoptionalpam_group.so

and added to /etc/security/group.conf:
 *; *; %sysops; Al-2400;
adm,sudo,admin,dip,cdrom,floppy,plugdev,lpadmin,sambashare

but groups are not added as expected, i'm not in 'admin' or 'sudo' group
(eg, i cannot do administrative tasks) and if i fire up a terminal:

 gaio@dora:~$ id
 uid=1000(gaio) gid=1001(casa) gruppi=1001(casa),1000(sysops),1003(bbs)

note that group assignment works, eg:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1266069] Re: banshee hang on start

2014-01-12 Thread Marco Gaiarin
Ahem, some mystic inspiration came today.

My daughters (7 and 9) have the bad instinct to pull down the main AC
switch in the power board/stripe not taking care if ubuntu have
correctly shut down.

10 minutes ago i've simply done a:

 sudo touch /forcefsck

and reboot, and now (after the FS check) banshee works! Incredible!

Seems to me that there was some very strange FS corruption, that lead to
that trouble. Note that i've used the computer also for some data-
intensive tasks (ah, the christmas video! ;), and do regular 'dist-
upgrade'.

Boh. Sorry for the fuss, and say me if i can be useful. I attach the log
file, anyway (not mine, so it is still the 'not working' one).
