[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1589008] Re: Bluetooth freezing video playback In Ubuntu/Kubuntu 16.04
BT device is in the wrong mode / on the wrong profile. Solution is here: https://askubuntu.com/questions/889737/video-not- playing-in-web-browser-with-bluetooth-headphones-connected-how-can-i wget https://gist.github.com/pylover/d68be364adac5f946887b85e6ed6e7ae/archive/d698974910bbb7d016ec0ad08c1bf41b4b524364.zip unzip d698974910bbb7d016ec0ad08c1bf41b4b524364.zip in there is a a2dp.py chmod +x a2dp.py Run the file (modify python3.5 to python3 if needed in the first line) when you have the device connected. Choose it from the list. It changes the profile, now everything works, the video is also running. What the reason is, I cant tell, but I can tell you that this solves it -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to pulseaudio in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1589008 Title: Bluetooth freezing video playback In Ubuntu/Kubuntu 16.04 Status in linux package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in pulseaudio package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: In 16.04 when a bluetooth audio device is connected it freezes video playback and also no sound comes from online audio only streams. Issue does not exist with a wired headset. This issue does not exist with 15.10. All updates have been installed on 16.04 including backports but they have not fixed the issue. It is not browser specific and not website specific. It is not hardware specific as it affects my laptop with an intel 7260 card and my pc with an intel 8260 card. The issue exists on both ubuntu and kubuntu 16.04. I have reported it on the ubuntu support forums and after investigation a moderator noticed changed in the kernel from 4.4 and 4.2 that may becausing the issue and asked me to file a bug report. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1761844] Re: Very large emojis displayed in subject line and in the email list
Its true, a very easy workaround is to install the fonts-symbola package: sudo apt-get install fonts-symbola Afterwards, all works fine. +1 to the suggestion of bugrasan, to just add a dependency to the fonts- symbola package (looks better anyways) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to thunderbird in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1761844 Title: Very large emojis displayed in subject line and in the email list Status in Mozilla Thunderbird: Invalid Status in thunderbird package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The list of emails received from Thunderbird shows emojis. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 427100] Re: JPEG2000 thumbnail causes browser to crash
You can add the tag vivid.. The bug still exists in Ubuntu 15.04! Please fix it, because it also can used for other bad things besides just crashing Nautilus: http://www.ubuntu.com/usn/usn-1315-1/ Here my dmesg output: [ 9415.337774] nautilus[11166]: segfault at 7f4d50c5c540 ip 7f4d28a3701c sp 7f4d50c5c530 error 7 in libjasper.so.1.0.0[7f4d28a1+4c000] [ 9666.642346] nautilus[11391]: segfault at 7f01295a4540 ip 7f00f39ca01c sp 7f01295a4530 error 6 in libjasper.so.1.0.0[7f00f39a3000+4c000] [ 9685.330281] nautilus[11438]: segfault at 7f778a096540 ip 7f7789c9301c sp 7f778a096530 error 6 in libjasper.so.1.0.0[7f7789c6c000+4c000] [11242.749456] nautilus[14785]: segfault at 7f7f29a9b540 ip 7f7f0064201c sp 7f7f29a9b530 error 6 in libjasper.so.1.0.0[7f7f0061b000+4c000] [11373.131440] nautilus[14976]: segfault at 7fca7d85f430 ip 7fca5c3c601c sp 7fca7d85f420 error 6 in libjasper.so.1.0.0[7fca5c39f000+4c000] I can also confirm that it affects JPEG2000 files with transparency. I had a hard time to figure out the problem and extract the file that was the reason. I moved it to a seperate folder with the console and opened it again, and it crashed every time changing in that folder. Opening the file with GIMP or EOG, started from the console, it was no problem to display it. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/427100 Title: JPEG2000 thumbnail causes browser to crash Status in jasper package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: Binary package hint: nautilus Attached file was generated by the Meerkat Second Life viewer. THe file is a texture file in JPEG2000 format. The file reads properly with the Meerkat viewer (Linux and Windows) and with IrfanView (Windows). Nautilus correctly lists this file unless the thumbnail function is enabled. With thumbnail enabled Nautilus reads about 70% of the JPEG2000 files then crashes. No crash report is generated. However the SECOND time that the file is listed the thumbnail works! This is a problem since there are several hundred of these files in a directory. I have been unable to find a validation tool for JPEG2000 to rule out format errors in the file itself. I can supply many more examples of these files if it would help trace the problem!
