[Desktop-packages] [Bug 892022] Re: Errors in german spell-checker

2011-12-27 Thread Michael Piefel
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 559894 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/559894

This is absolutely not a duplicate of #559894 – German spellchecking is
working, I do not get red lines for my texts. Did you even read my
report? It says ‘unlike #559894’, so I already made my homework at least
that far.

Spellchecking fails for a number of words (see my original report), all
the errors are related to the same letter ‘ß’. It works for the others

Title:
  Errors in german spell-checker

Status in “empathy” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
Spell checking works (unlike #559894), but makes some mistakes. They seem to
relate mostly to the letter ‘ß’, possibly introduced wrongly while trying to
adapt to the spelling reform a few years back. In particular, the following
words are underlined:
== Maß Spaß heißt Kloß Fuß
They are all quite correct. I’m sure there are dozens more. It is not a
problem with ‘ß’ in general, as ‘weiß’ is correctly identified as spelled
correctly. Sorry for the repetitiveness.

PS: This is most certainly not an empathy bug, but I don’t know which
package is responsible for spell checking here.
