Hi, I try today with ubuntu 15.04 and nvidia drivers.
Now works perfect! No more black windows.

Sorry for my english, is very bed.

You mean about solve this problem for ubuntu 14.04-14.10?

In this case, if i'm the only one with this problem, for me is not so 
important. I think i stay with 15.04 if works good.

  After updating to thunderbird 14.0+build1-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 on my
  precise installation the scrollbars have a dark gray background color
  and are not using the theme color anymore. See the attached
  screenshot.
