[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1496542] Re: Running processes left after disabling screen reader

2017-01-04 Thread Nicholas Christian Langkjær Ipsen
I have the same problem as Travis. Never used the screen reader, then
this suddenly spawned four instances and started spouting gibberish.

Title:
Running processes left after disabling screen reader

Status in speech-dispatcher package in Ubuntu:
  Triaged

Bug description:
After I disabled my screen reader, I noticed that when running "ps xa
  | grep -P 'speech-dispatcher.*\.conf'" I get:

  17906 tty2 Sl+0:09 /usr/lib/speech-dispatcher-modules/sd_espeak
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/espeak.conf
  17911 tty2 Sl+0:01 /usr/lib/speech-dispatcher-modules/sd_cicero
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/cicero.conf
  17915 tty2 Sl+0:01 /usr/lib/speech-dispatcher-modules/sd_generic
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/generic.conf
  17918 tty2 Sl+0:01 /usr/lib/speech-dispatcher-modules/sd_dummy
/etc/speech-dispatcher/modules/dummy.conf
  24407 pts/0S+ 0:00 grep --color=auto -P speech-dispatcher.*\.conf

So it seems as though it left some running processes behind after I
disabled it. I have also attached a screenshot of my Sound settings
which show that they are still running (Sound_Application_List2.png).

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1632740] Re: Screen distorts after a period of use, may crash kernel

2016-10-22 Thread Nicholas Christian Langkjær Ipsen
Well, unfortunatly, upgrading to 1.8 disables both the bluetooth module
and touchscreen on my device(Asus T300 chi), leaving me with no input
options. I suppose that's a separate problem, but it's rather hard to
file. I'll try to find my adapter, borrow a USB keyboard from someone
and file it. I'll update this bug then, too.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1632740] [NEW] Screen distorts after a period of use, may crash kernel

2016-10-12 Thread Nicholas Christian Langkjær Ipsen
Public bug reported:

After using my system for a period of time, usually less than an hour,
the screen starts to corrupt. It will vary in intensity, until the
system either crashes, or everything goes back to normal for a while.

When the system does crash, not even the sysrq-key works.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1632593] Re: Xorg does not utilize the 3D graphics acceleration capabilities of my device

2016-10-12 Thread Nicholas Christian Langkjær Ipsen
I reinstalled the package, no dice. I then looked around for it, and
found that it had been renamed to old.libgbm1.so, along with the file it
linked to. I renamed both, removing the "old.", and now 3D works. It's
definitely still a bug though.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 821233] Re: indicator-weather crashed with AttributeError in export_location_details(): Location instance has no attribute 'location_code'

2013-01-10 Thread Nicholas Christian Langkjær Ipsen
Is this going to be backported to 12.04? If not, I think it's bvetter
that the application is withdrawn from the 12.04 archive as it's
currently completely useless, casting a bad light on the overall quality
of Ubuntu.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1090789] [NEW] Flash-plugin acts strange after resuming from suspend

2012-12-15 Thread Nicholas Christian Langkjær Ipsen
Public bug reported:

What happens:
1. I resume a suspended ciomputer running Ubuntu 12.04, with a paused youtube
video open in firefox.
2. The video viewer appears unresponsive, with no cursur change or highlighting
when I mouse over controls.
3. Clicking the controls does have the expected effect, but I only hear the
audio, with the video being frozen.
4. Everything works again after killing flash from htop.

What I expected to happen:
1. I resume a suspended ciomputer running Ubuntu 12.04, with a paused youtube
video.
2. I play the video as normal.

I believe this is a regression.
