We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all
reported bugs in a timely manner. You reported this bug some time ago
and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 14.04 (trusty) reached end-of-standard-support on April 25, 2019.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that you reported when
using a currently supported version of Ubuntu? Please let us know if you
do otherwise this report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days
time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.

I'm also having this problem, changing the gnome tweaks font scale fixes
but only until gnome shell restarts. I found @konrad solution to work,
reverting back to libmutter-6 seemed to have fixed not only scaling but
it also seemed to make the animations smoother.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1711856] Re: Help! Mouse moves but none of the buttons work!

2017-08-19 Thread Nima Dolatabadi
** Description changed:

- www
+ I start it up and everything goes fine for maybe the first two minutes of
whatever I'm doing.
+ then all of a sudden I can't click anything. Also I want to close a window,
move the cursor over the X, going backward and forward with my mouse buttons
but I can't. I can push right click, try to kill the window but then I can't
confirm because I can't click 'yes.' I can't even power down normally because I
can't click 'yes' when the duologue appears. Very annoying.
+ when I had windows 7 and 8 it happened and with so much searches that I did
nothing worked so I did not use my gaming mouse for months and after a long
time I did plug in my mouse and there was no problem.
+ rightnow I have Ubuntu 14.04 for one year and this problem happened again.
+ I have "MSI Gaming Mouse P/n s12-0400690-AA3"
+ Thanks

 Nima,

I moved to SteamOS. I am afraid you have to format your OS drive though.
For me is important my NVidia works correctly for games and work
projects. I know they will take care of that part.

In general I like Debian or Debian variants. They have a huge number of
 packages.

Filing this against the 340-updates version but possibly the same
applies to older versions, too. The nvidia source package produces two
   individual dkms packages: nvidia-340-updates, nvidia-340-updates-uvm.
The problem is that the DKMS build of the nvidia-uvm module runs
compile steps inside the nvidia modules build directory. This is
violating the DKMS assumption that each module can be build
independently (there is no way of describing cross-modules
dependencies and even more important, the autoinstall step after a new
kernel is installed will run the modules build in parallel).

Since nvidia and nvidia-uvm are very dependent on each other the right
course of action seems to be to combine both sources in one DKMS
module that produces two kernel modules (this is supported by DKMS).
For the transition this resulting dkms package needs to have a
   breaks/replaces for the nvidia-uvm package.

This seems to fix it (at least for one version upgrade) for many
   people

   $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331

   after that...

   $ sudo dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-331-uvm

(some users may be on the versions of these packages suffixed with
   -updates )

   Update 2015-05-23:
As of the recent kernel update (3.13.0-53), the above two commands
followed by a reboot may not fix it. Instead:

   $ sudo apt-get install --reinstall nvidia-331 nvidia-331-uvm

   followed by a reboot.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 581904] Re: external drive / multiple partitions no right click unmount

2012-10-22 Thread Nima Kiaei-Lochte
After updating to Ubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal my external USB harddrive
with several partitions can be unmounted but not detached (safely
removed). I tried to update the deliverd Nautilus 3.4.2 to 3.6 with the
ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 PPA but then it even didn't start. USB flash
drives are dismounted and detached automatically without any problem
