*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1038047 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1038047 On Lubuntu I have methodically isolated the cause of *my* problem to the following plugin: 'EDS Contact Integration'. Thing is, it's a default plugin. When I enable this plugin tbird starts but the instant I click on a folder it crashes. Sometimes I need to click on a few folders (but so far, never more than 3. I'm not sure why this can be). When I disable it this behaviour is not present, even after much clicking. I can repeat the above workaround and crash with great certainty. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1038047] Re: evolution-data-server has to be installed for Thunderbird 15 after upgrade to be executable, otherwise Thunderbird will crashs at runtime
On Lubuntu I have methodically isolated the cause of *my* problem to the following plugin: 'EDS Contact Integration'. Thing is, it's a default plugin. When I enable this plugin tbird starts but the instant I click on a folder it crashes. Sometimes I need to click on a few folders (but so far, never more than 3. I'm not sure why this can be). When I disable it this behaviour is not present, even after much clicking. I was brought here due to my original bug (bug #1061958) being made a duplicate of this one. That might not be correct. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution-data-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1038047 Title: evolution-data-server has to be installed for Thunderbird 15 after upgrade to be executable, otherwise Thunderbird will crashs at runtime Status in “evolution-data-server” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “evolution-data-server” source package in Quantal: Triaged Bug description: evolution-data-server had to be installed for Thunderbird 15 after upgrade to be executable, otherwise Thunderbird crashed at runtime. This happened after installing all (K)ubuntu updates from 2012-08-16. The distribution is Kubuntu 12.10 Quantal Quetzal. There was a glib - error reported. Some dbus - error about not accessable evolution settings. After installing evolution-data-server-common. The error message was more elaborate, but the error persisted. After installing evolution-data-server and restarting Thunderbird, the error was gone. I uninstalled evolution-data-server-common and evolution-data- server afterwards. The error is gone, it seems to me that the bug was caused by the automatic upgrade to Thundrbird 15.
