I am too old to concern beyond my laptop password and email password. Thus I am absolutely sure I never put in password on my backup data.
I backed up my wife's laptop with 14.04, and the extension was like "tar.gz". I backed up my laptop the latest using 16.04, and the extension was "PHP". Then I tried to restore it with fresh new install of 16.04.02, only to find it keep asking me for password. Thus I have 2 times backup in "tar.gz", and 1 time backup in "pgp". Hypothetically, the latest "pgp" may had converted my "tar.gz" into incompatibility. So I don't like to be convinced otherwise while I'm absolutely sure I never touch any keyboard to fill any kind of password. As I mentioned earlier, "I'm too old to be concerned with too many password." My latest update for you which I'm desperately try to forget, is that I've accidentally lost 137 GB of 3 years backup data. So let's just drop this bug report. Don't ask me for anything anymore because I'm trying to forget my HUGE disappointment. After all, deja-dup already rated 3 star in Ubuntu software center. That should be a clear reminder for me now never to use it again. Thank you for your responding my report.
