Nvidia user here, nope, it happens also with Xorg. And like in #8 I also see/don't see them randomly. Ok, I found the source of the problem: I use a post-installation script for Ubuntu that installs several packages. This script installed "unity-tweak-tool" and "indicator- multiload" that have as dependency several Unity and indicators packages. I tried with options snd-hda-intel model=auto in /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-
base.conf and default-sample-channels = 6 in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf
but nothing has changed.
Alsamixer can only see two channels.
