[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1587154] Re: --working-directory does not work anymore

2017-04-17 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
This bug affects me the same way as it affects Jonathan Hartley : the
working directory isn't passed to a custom command...

  --working-directory does not work anymore

Status in gnome-terminal package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:

After upgrading from ubuntu 14.04 to 16.04 one of my script the uses
--working-directory option stopped working.

  Simply running:

  gnome-terminal --working-directory=/tmp

Starts the terminal in my home directory. Changing the command to
gnome-terminal.real does not solve my problem either.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1294899] Re: Import saved VPN connection has been Recently Broken

2014-11-27 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
I can confirm the same behavior on Ubuntu GNOME 14.10.

Importing a VPN configuration with the new configuration tool does not
work. However, using the network connections app works correctly, as
stated by vaiopro.

Bug description:
  SRU Request:

  [Impact]
Attempting to import a saved VPN connection file results in a segault. This
is regression in Ubuntu 14.04 that worked correctly in previous versions.

  [Test Case]
  1- install network-manager-openvpn and network-manager-openvpn-gnome
2- from the network-manager indicator, click on Edit Connections
  3- Click on Add
4- Select Import a saved VPN configuration, and open the file in comment #28

Expected results: a window should appear with the imported information
Current results: network-manager's connection editor segfaults

  [Regression potential]
This SRU simply adds a couple of missing sections to the
11-user-connections.patch patch that went missing. If the fix is broken, either
the vpn files won't import, or creating a new vpn connection could break
completely.

  Original description:
I believe recent changes have broken network-manager-openvpn feature that
allows you to Import saved VPN connection.

I've tested this feature with bundles that I've definitely imported
  successfully in the past.

Now, not only does it not import, but it gives absolutely no feedback
at all; the window just disappears as though I didn't just ask it to
import a VPN.conf file. The folder (I'm importing the .conf file from)
includes all the necessary supporting files. I'm very sure this is not
a user error on my part. I've done this several times in the past and
I'm certain that the files (that are currently being ignored without
dialog feedback) are exactly the same as they were when I was able to
import successfully a few weeks ago.

I've tested this on multiple machines that have Ubuntu 14.04 installed
  and fully updated.

And, even if the files were indeed corrupted (which I'm certain they
are not), the fact that the UI just disappears, instead of showing an
error, is a bug within itself.

Also, I'd like to point out, that I was able to set up this VPN bundle
manually. The point of this bug is to report that the ability to
import via .conf files (so that you don't have to set things manually)
  has recently became nonfunctional.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1311157] [NEW] Chromium window doesn't go below other windows on middle-click

2014-04-22 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
Public bug reported:

Versions :

Ubuntu GNOME 14.04
GNOME 13.10, no PPA
Chromium 34.0.1847.116 Ubuntu 14.04 aura (260972) (package
34.0.1847.116-0ubuntu2)

Expected behavior :

When clicking with the middle mouse button on a title bar, the window
goes below other windows. Chromium should do the same.

Problem :

With Chromium on Ubuntu 14.04, clicking with the middle mouse on the
integrated titlebar has no effect.
With previous versions, it worked as expected, Chromium was sent below other
windows.

When Chromium is configured to use the system titlebar and borders, the
titlebar works as expected. Clicking on the background of the tabs bar
still has no effect, as expected.

This is probably related to Aura...

** Affects: chromium-browser (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1013881] Re: Right-Ctrl key broken on French OSS keyboard

2014-04-21 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
Hello,

I am french, I use the Français (variante) keymap because I like how the keys
are arranged (², ³, œ, etc).
I also am left-handed and use Ctrl-Up and Ctrl-Down to switch desktops. I do so
by using RCtrl + arrows, keeping my left hand on the mouse.

Now, on Ubuntu 14.04, I am also suffering from this weird level5
thing. For some reason I don't really understand, I should now use both
hands to change desktops (I replaced Ctrl-Alt-Up/Down with Ctrl-Up/Down
with to not use both hands, as you understood).

By the way, as stated in a previous comment, RCtrl is a very important
key on VirtualBox...

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1013881] Re: Right-Ctrl key broken on French OSS keyboard

2014-04-21 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
I would also like to add that Ctrl-PgUp and Ctrl-PgDown, to change tabs
in tabbed apps (GNOME Terminal or Firefox, for example), now need a
manipulation involving both hands.

This is clearly a big regression, at least for left-handed people,
probably for right-handed people too...

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 928707]

2013-07-04 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
I've exported the LModern Type1 font from the Ubuntu lmodern package
to the TrueType format (with instructions from
http://www.vromans.org/johan/OOo/oofonts03.html).

When using this TTF export, the ê character is correctly exported to
PDF and printed.

2013-07-04 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
I can't reproduce it either, with LibreOffice 4.0.2.2 from Ubuntu 13.04.

I've tried exporting the same ODT file to PDF with the same fonts
package installed (lmodern), it works now.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1099828] Re: Tab bar is not displayed when there is only one page open in a window

2013-01-23 Thread Sébastien Maccagnoni-Munch
Any ETA on when the fix will be in the repositories?

As a simple user, I am also very interested in this information :D

Was the issue a modification for the Unity GUI that had 'leaked' into all the
 alternate GUIs?

Yes, as long as these alternate GUIs are using Ubuntu 12.10 packages
(Kubuntu 12.10, Xubuntu 12.10, etc).

can we be sure this a one-off or a systemic issue?

The bug seems pretty clear and simple :

They wanted to hide the tabs bar in chromeless mode when there is only
one tab, but in the code they added a test which only checks if there is
only one tab, not caring about the window mode. The new patch adds a
test to check if the window is in chromeless mode, so the bar will not
be hidden for classic chromium windows.

So, I'm confident it is a one-off issue.

Are we sure it's a bug though and not just new expected behaviour ?

If it was an expected behaviour, I think Chrome on Windows and Chromium
on Ubuntu 12.04, with the same version number, would have it too.

It seems it only affects Ubuntu 12.10.
