Linked 3 more duplicates to this bug report. They were all about the
same bug just worded differently.

Hopefully this brings more attention to the Ubuntu team.

Title:
Settings and Quick Menu apply Dark style differently

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 22.10 and noticed that some of my apps were
no longer in Dark mode including gedit/chrome. When setting the style
through the quick menu however, these apps go to Dark mode (presumably
due to gtk theme being applied). Likewise for the quick menu itself,
setting the style to Dark in gnome-control-settings doesn't change it
  to dark, it remains light.

see screenshot attached, you will see that when setting the style to
Dark in Settings, gedit and the quick menu remain light. I tried to
logout in case it was an issue with how the settings are applied but
it didn't help. it's also clear that the toggle in the quick menu
works as intended so there seems to be an issue with the way gnome-
  control-center applies the Dark style.

Title:
App theme for legacy GTK3 apps inadvertently changes to light mode
when Appearance pane in Settings is clicked/made active in Ubuntu
  22.10

Status in gnome-control-center package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
This bug happens with dark mode enabled, whenever I open Settings with
Appearance pane open, or I enter Appearance pane from other panes in Settings.
Whenever I do so, the app theme for legacy GTK3 applications (those not
supporting the new GTK dark mode API) inadvertently changes to light mode. To
turn back dark mode on for legacy apps,
I have to use the toggle in Quick Settings, or click on any of the theme
circles.

Normally, the dark mode theme for legacy apps should not change whenever
Settings is opened with Appearance pane open, or Appearance pane is selected
from other panes in Settings, just like
GTK3 applications using the new dark mode API, and GTK4+libadwaita apps
(which are not affected by this bug).

A recording of the bug in action is attached along with this report.

I had this issue since gnome-control-center 43 came out in the
development release of Ubuntu 22.10. I found another post for the same
bug and made it a duplicate so it's linked here.
