[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1183742] Re: Unable to install card themes

2014-07-28 Thread Trond-trondhuso
run sudo apt-get install gnome-cards-data and the error message is gone.

So I think the program should actually run the command if someone clicks the
link 'Install more card themes'
Or the gnome-cards-data should be installed together with the game

Not sure if it is related to this report, but I am filing it here.

I don't know how to reproduce this bug, but after varying amounts of
normal usage of my laptop, I notice gnome-settings-daemon is consuming
  100% (approx) CPU.

I am not sure how to restart gnome-settings-daemon, I tried opening a
terminal and running gnome-settings-daemon again but this crashes my
system - my external monitor switches off and my laptop locks up. I am
  able to reboot with SysRq+REISUB.

Sorry I cannot provide more information - it happens twice now, maybe
someone can tell me how to get more information for the next time this
  happens.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1001052] Re: gnome-settings-daemon generates wrong notification for Thinklight toggle key (FN-PageUp)

2012-08-27 Thread Trond-trondhuso
I am seeing the message when I click on turn backlit key on and off (fn-
key + key right on a Dell E4310)

Title:
gnome-settings-daemon generates wrong notification for Thinklight
  toggle key (FN-PageUp)

Status in “gnome-settings-daemon” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
The Thinklight toggle key combination is being seen by the Gnome
Settings Daemon in Precise as a 'keyboard step down' key, thus
  triggering the wrong notification:

  ** (gnome-settings-daemon:5075): DEBUG: Updating client: index=27
name='ConsoleKit Session /org/freedesktop/ConsoleKit/Session18'
  (gnome-settings-daemon:5075): media-keys-plugin-DEBUG: Launching action for

  (gnome-settings-daemon:5075): power-plugin-DEBUG: keyboard step down
  (gnome-settings-daemon:5075): power-plugin-CRITICAL **: abs_to_percentage:
assertion `max min' failed

The thinkpad_acpi event for the Thinklight key combination is:
  ibm/hotkey HKEY 0080 1012

The right behaviour should be to not generate any notification for the
Thinklight toggle, as in Oneiric, since the Thinklight is not a
keyboard backlight, it doesn't have intensity levels (unlike the wrong
notification suggests, by showing an always full bar even if the
Thinklight has been switched off) and it doesn't make so much sense to
  have a notification for it.

This bug appeared after updating Oneiric to Precise.

This bug leads to random GDM freezes. The freeze occurs when I start a
