Hmm, just seems a bit wasteful, as there are at least two other bugs that describe this problem, and this one is already open, is the reason behind this that reporting a bug includes reports from my laptop, which will change when the ppa is removed? Or i guess because everyones set up is a little different eh? Rebooted, back at low graphics warning, i guess when i choose reconfigure it undoes the aticonfig initial and switches off the driver, i chose continue in low graphics for one session, it took me to cli, so i just reconfigured again. It is a bug, i believe- duplicate of 1068661, or at least I think the other bug will also happen, I tried to upgrade to the fglrx drivers because of this- there is some serious overheating too. I have an hp dm4, with radeon hd 7470, and intel 3000, I get the same symptoms, overheating, fan always on, and am unable to install amd drivers, I get the same low graphics 'mode/ no unity problem'. My suggestion is to double check that your card is actually supported by gh the 12,11 beta driver also doesnt support me. Only the mouse and the wallpaper. If I initialize the settings sudo aticonfig --initial then after rebooting it gives a warning saying I'm in low graphics mode! How to fix this? Even tried the drivers from AMD website (both the old 8.* and the new 9.* drivers) Earlier i used software source to install the drivers.
