[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1316658] Re: [Upstream] Misleading error dialog while printing in libreoffice writer
Confirmed on at least 2 different machines upgraded to 14.04. Different hardware, different printers. Very annoying bug, sometimes the document is printed, sometimes the printer queue gets stuffed with myriad unfinished jobs, and printing is not working at all. This together with the `no printer icon in panel` https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-printers/+bug/1304434 Nasty bugs. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316658 Title: [Upstream] Misleading error dialog while printing in libreoffice writer Status in LibreOffice Productivity Suite: Confirmed Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hi, libreoffice version 4.2.3.3 (current version from ubuntu 14.04 repository) shows an error dialog while printing a document: Could not start printer. Please check your printer configuration But printing starts and finishes without a visible problem. Excepted behavior: This dialog should not be displayed! This problems occurs on three installations, all running Kubuntu 14.04, and it's confirmed by various other users in my bugreport on bugs.freedesktop.org for other ubuntu variants, see https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=77894 for details The issue is reported to be fixed in libreoffice 4.2.4.1. Is it possible to backport the fix or to deploy a newer version in ubuntu repository? [Desktop-packages] [Bug 387536] Re: Zenity should ignore markup with a flag
Use `--no-markup` flag -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to zenity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/387536 Title: Zenity should ignore markup with a flag Status in Zenity: Fix Released Status in “zenity” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Bug description: Zenity (specifically, the --info mode) should have a flag that will cause it to ignore Pango markup in its input. I frequently want to use Zenity to display output from scripts, and I shouldn't have to worry about whether the text has things like ampersands in it. (This is particularly annoying, because instead of failing to run when given incorrect input, Zenity will silently default to All updates are complete, but that's another bug.) I know that I can pipe into zenity --text-info, but that's a workaround, and I don't particularly want to confuse the user by presenting them with a text entry dialog when I just want to display some status information. Some sort of --ignore-pango flag for Zenity would be great. jdreed@infinite-loop:~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 9.04 Release: 9.04 jdreed@infinite-loop:~$ apt-cache policy zenity zenity: Installed: 2.26.0-0ubuntu2 Candidate: 2.26.0-0ubuntu2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/zenity/+bug/387536/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 988522] Re: Can't watch TV (DVB-T)
Setup is OK, I can record and play afterward, but can't watch anything live in Totem. Totem 3.01 Movie Player using GStreamer 0.10.36 With playback I get this error, but still I can view: Python (v2.7) requires to install plugins to play files of the following types: • private/teletext decoder • application/x-mpegts-private-section decoder -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to totem in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988522 Title: Can't watch TV (DVB-T) Status in “totem” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in Baltix GNU/Linux: New Bug description: I completed the setup to watch TV via DVB-T with Totem, everything is correct with the channels.conf etc. One problem then is this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-dvb- daemon/+bug/959838. The other problem: When I click onto a TV station to watch its program nothing happens; the screen stays black. But I recognize that some network traffic starts as soon as I start the program. So it seems to catch the DVB-T signal and transport it to somewhere, but it doesn't reach the screen of Totem.
