Ubuntu 14.04 (Alpha Release) - VNC not working

Status in “vino” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hello Everyone,

I need your help to resolve the issue with VNC - Remore desktop
connection. I upgraded my ubuntu from 12.04 LTS to 14.04 (Alpha)
today. I was able to connect to Ubuntu desktop (12.04) from my IPAD
using HippoRemote LIte or RealVNC before. But after upgradation to
14.04, this is not working all of a sudden. I tried many options to
the best of my knowledge, including but not limited to, changing /
restarting my router settings, reinstalling VNC server etc, changing
default port 5900 to different and port forwading etc. But none of
  them worked.

It seems VINO is not listening to ipv4 connections, may be it
conflicts with ipv6. Could any of you please help me how I can get
  through this.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1069031] Re: intel gma3600: X unable to start

2013-01-07 Thread XabiX
This looks promising. I have upgraded from 12.04 to Quantal. Before my
configuration was working with no external monitor and now it doesn't
work anymore.

I noticed that the Xorg.conf file should actually be xorg.conf file.
Which maybe means I was not using it before the upgrade. At least I can
confirm than before I had a screen on my headless Precise and not I
don't (again no monitor/screen is physically attached to it).

I don't understand why my modes don't work with my monitor:

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1069031] Re: intel gma3600: X unable to start

2013-01-06 Thread XabiX
This looks promising. I have upgraded from Precise to Quantal to test
this new package. Before my configuration was working with no external
monitor and now it doesn't work anymore. The Xorg.conf file refers to
the right driver and used to work.

Any idea of what the issue could be?

Thanks

Workaround is to blacklist the gma500_glx module, which allows X to
start by falling back to the vesa FB driver.

Applying the patch described here fixes the problem without the need
  to blacklist.

rm ~/.Xauthority
and
reboot

Bug description:
After upgrading to beta version of ubuntu 12 I cannot log into my
account. After typing the passsword or giving the finger print the
screens returns to a tty text interface which shows the boot messages
for about 3 seconds and then returns to the log in screen. Oddly
enough, the two other acounts I have on the laptop login perfectly
normal, on both Unity and Gnome3, though it should be noted that they
do not have finger print login enabled. I can log into my account via
tty text interface, it's just the graphical interface that won't
  launch.
