2024-02-24 Thread Zoe
This actually also affects other distros, I use Arch Linux and Sway on
my Laptop and Ubuntu on my PC. I have the same issue on Arch Linux Sway.

Status in firefox package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
GDM, or more specifically is flooding systemd journal and
/var/log/syslog via rsyslogd with gigabytes of the following messages:

WaylandMessage::Write() too many files to send

I noticed the problem when I started to run out of disk because
/var/log/syslog was consuming more than 400GiB. I noticed that rsyslogd starts
to consume a lot of CPU trying to process such volume of messages.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1857392] Re: Window manager warning: Overwriting existing binding of keysym...

2022-12-07 Thread Zoe
I'm also having this problem. I'm on Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS I have a hotkey
on my Razer mouse set to a normal key on the keyboard via the Razer
software and every time I press the hotkey the fps drop to 0 for about 1
- 2 seconds in Minecraft (xD) and I see the same logs as everyone else
here in the syslog. So yes: This does effect performance.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1992852] [NEW] Update gnome-desktop to 42.5

2022-10-13 Thread Zoe
Public bug reported:

Impact
--
The only thing this update does is update the GNOME version number shown in the
GNOME Settings > About dialog from 42.4 to 42.5

That's desired because in general we are running 42.5

Test Case
-
Install the updated packages
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down in the left sidebar and click About
The GNOME Version should be 42.3

What Could Go Wrong
---
Because this is part of core GNOME, it falls under the
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/GNOME

Other Info
--
GNOME 43 will use gnome-shell to display the version number so that's one less
SRU required for future Ubuntu releases.

** Affects: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New
