Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1968887] Re: Save As Dialog Box does not get focus in Ubuntu 22.04

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1949340 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1949340

It's still happening for me, because I just tried to save a file this
morning, and had to steal the focus of the window, which meant I couldn't
just type a file name and hit enter. It's not a huge issues, but it's
annoying.

When using a browser to right click a file and save as, the save as
window does not get focus, which means you can't just type the name of

This defeats the entire purpose of 2 built in features, 1 being the
pre-selected original file name (since you can't rename until you re-
aquire focus for that window, thereby undoing the pre-selection
programmed in) and 2, the ability to quickly save the file with a
  keystroke.

A side note to this, ubuntu-bug should have an option to report bugs
with other WITHOUT having to specify a package. This is a bug in
ubuntu-bug. Not a feature. Because we don't always know what
package(s) are involved. This needs to be addressed.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1725888] Re: Ubuntu 17.10: clipboard contents lost if app is closed (Wayland)

2017-10-24 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
Sebastian Bacher, copying between any two programs currently doesn't
work unless both programs stay open. i.e., if I open a text editor and
copy the contents, then close the text editor and go to another program
(or the same text editor), the copied data will be gone. that's why you
need a clipboard manager.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1725888] Re: Ubuntu 17.10: clipboard contents lost if app is closed (Wayland)

2017-10-23 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
I can add this, this is a completely fresh install as of just three or
four days ago via the 17.10 iso. there should be then no trace of Unity,
of I am not mistaken. So i think I can attest to this being a gnome
issue via wayland. again, simply installing parcellite suffices, as long
as you don't mind the parcellite icon constantly being on the top right.
but a clipboard manager is really a necessary thing these days if you
work on your nix box like I do.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1376897] [NEW] No way to contact someone to get satisfaction about non working purchases in software center

2014-10-02 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
Public bug reported:

There is no way to get ahold of someone to solve issues. I.E. I
purchased Bastion. It won't download. This issue was known for over 2
months.

Still Software Center let me go through with the purchase, and after I
found I was ripped off, I had no information on how to solve this issue
either by a reimbursement or a problem solve.

1) There should either be a chat system to a real person, or

2) there should be a phone number leading to a real person, or

3) there should be an email address that gets solutions faster than 1
working day, more like 1-3 hours at maximum.

Bug description:
There is no way to get ahold of someone to solve issues. I.E. I
purchased Bastion. It won't download. This issue was known for over 2
  months.

Still Software Center let me go through with the purchase, and after I
found I was ripped off, I had no information on how to solve this
issue either by a reimbursement or a problem solve.

  1) There should either be a chat system to a real person, or

  2) there should be a phone number leading to a real person, or

  3) there should be an email address that gets solutions faster than 1
working day, more like 1-3 hours at maximum.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 587185] Re: [Realtek ALC889A] Playback problem, stuttering audio video

2014-04-01 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
I get these same issues on 12.04 LTS 64 bit. I have a Advanced Micro
Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] SBx00 Azalia sound system, which I have been
told is really a realtek.

It skips video and audio. Only for a second. Actually, it doesn't skip
so much as it plays a second or two over again, and the plays regularly.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1007783] Re: audio skips intermittently

2014-04-01 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
I just want to add that this issue is not just in web browsers. I also
get it in the MOC (music on console) audio player, and rhythmbox.

I am running Xubuntu 12.04 LTS 64 bit edition.

I have the amd azalia sound card (built into mobo, of coarse, in my
laptop)

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1067320] Re: 1002:6798 [fglrx] VT cursor is visible and blinking on top of Unity Radeon HD 7970 and 5450

2013-10-29 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
I run Xubuntu 12.04.3 LTS 64 bit version. I also have this problem with
fglrx and fglrx-updates.

Logging out and back in solves the issue. This issue doesn't show up on
every boot, it happens about one in every three or four boots.

Bug description:
A black cursor is blinking on top of the screen.
It is not as regular as a true shell prompt (because of glitches), but I'm
sure this is the cursor of the underlying TTY.

If I try to switch to any other TTY, the focus remains on the desktop
(eg. I can still click and type in Firefox) but the black cursor does
  move as I type.

For example, I just switched to TTY 1 and was able to log-in (I see it
because of the cursor position on the screen), while my username and
my password were also written in the text-box where I'm writing this
  bug report.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1103497] [NEW] Strange error while attempting to report an error

2013-01-23 Thread dennyg...@gmail.com
Public bug reported:

Xubuntu 12.10 64 bit edition reported an error.

It did not tell me what had crashed. When I clicked the button that
allows me to report the error, i got this error message a moment later:

An error occurred while attempting to process this problem report:

unpack requires a bytes object of length 4

I have found several other bugs listed here with similar events, but
none of which are exactly the same.

Xubuntu did not tell me anything crashed, while the others I list below
mention a specific problem:
