probably, btw.. did something change in the way the apps are launched? so after a reboot i've launched gnome chess from launcher, the app started (without Xmir) and worked great. but then i closed the app and the second time it tried to launch with Xmir but failed to load. installed with libertine, the game is not even playable, right arrow only move tux once and then stops... it looks like keyboard repeat rate is 0? Will Ubuntu take care of these bugs ? As the typical answer from the GNOME team is that they have already moved to a newer release, so they won't provide any support on older versions ... The GNOME team appears to be highly unqualified to make stable releases of their software. Bug description:
While using the nvidia-319 driver, the following C++ program won't
run:
$ cat test.cpp EOF

#include GL/gl.h
int main(int argc, char *argv[]) {

glEnable(GL_LIGHT0);
}
EOF
Instead, it fails with the following error message:
$ g++ test.cpp -lGL
$ ./a.out
Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-version.c: 224: _dl_check_map_versions:
Assertion `needed != ((void *)0)' failed!
Using the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau driver, the problem does not
occur. Also, when std::string is not used, the program runs without
problems. Using OpenGL from pure C programs is also not a problem. The
problem can be reproduced with both g++-4.6 and g++-4.8.
