Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1817440] Re: System freeze only with Firefox
Daniel I think I have solved the problem. The issue was. I decided to change my OS from ubuntu 18.10 to Lubuntu one. Before doing so, I backed up the "Home" onto USB drive up using Deja dup app. Then installed Lubuntu - selecting "erase Disk" option, then restored the Home. After my reply above, I decided to uninstall all the add ons on the Firefox. Restarted the browser & installed the add on. The freeze seem to have gone. Thanks On Mon, Feb 25, 2019 at 8:55 AM M. Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1817440] Re: System freeze only with Firefox
The freezing seems to occur mainly with Ghostery & Adblock add ons. Because when I disable them, freezing subsides. I had the same issue with ubuntu - until I changed to Lubuntu with the hope a lighter version will solve the problem. Other than that I have no clue why since upgrade to ubuntu/lubuntu 18.10 Thanks, Daniel Levi On Sun, Feb 24, 2019 at 6:25 PM Daniel van Vugt < daniel.van.v...@canonical.com> wrote: > Can you please clarify what the "add-ons" are whose removal fixes the > problem? > > ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) > > ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) >Status: New => Incomplete > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1817440 > > Title: > System freeze only with Firefox > > Status in xorg-server package in Ubuntu: > Incomplete > > Bug description: > Recently my laptop freeze when Firefox 65.0 is started. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1726306] Re: Failure to reactivate display after locking
It's definitely not (directly) related to either of those - I can't even get the display to come back on, let alone enter a password at the lock screen. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-shell in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1726306 Title: Failure to reactivate display after locking Status in gdm3 package in Ubuntu: New Status in gnome-shell package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: I'm using a laptop with no external monitors attached (System76 Oryx Pro 2016). After the screen is locked (either manually or via timeout) and it blanks/deactivates the screen, the display remains deactivated and my session is unrecoverable. (I can still ssh into the machine, but have so far been unable to get the display back without rebooting, even via restarting gdm.) It seems somewhat similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1715811 , but it's only after the display is deactivated, and not at boot. The scope of the problem seems to be compounded by the fact that there's no straightforward way to prevent gnome-shell from blanking the screen when it locks. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1713513] Re: notification for extensions keep reapearing
I've also had the same problem. I tested it with a few extensions and the error happened with all of them, so it seems to be an issue with the start of a gnome session.
