I found xbacklight utility in the repository. This utility doesn't
require root so I've created a link in startup application list.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 886468] Re: Problem to read PDF

2011-11-23 Thread mazurkin
I noticed some uncomfortable effects with Evince in Oneiric

- Scrolling pages with touchpad is not very smooth - pages are scrolled with
jumps
- Sometimes after touchpad slide Evince goes crazy and continuously scrolls all
the pages until the end of book

  Hi !

I've got a problem with Document viewer 3.2.1.

Indeed, i can't scroll the pages of PDF files with the touch pad. It's not
fluid at all and i have to use a mouse.
It doesn't work with Unity and Gnome-Shell interfaces.
Note that it's not a touch pad problem because it works good with my other,
OS Windows 7.

  PC :
  Asus X5DIE

PS : Sorry for my bad english but i'm french.

  Thanks for all.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 823555] Re: Toolbar editor is useless due to dragging problem

2011-11-23 Thread mazurkin
Oneiric (Upgraded from 11.04), Evince 3.2.1

Toolbar editor is almost unusable - after fighting for 10 mins I hardly
managed to add Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons at proper place near Zoom
Ratio selector

Toolbar editor is useless due to dragging problem

Status in “evince” package in Ubuntu:
  Fix Released

Bug description:
When attempting to drag icons from/to the Toolbar editor in Evince,
the icon gets stuck to the cursor and I cannot drop it. I couldn't
find a way to peacefully cancel this action or quit evince from within
the desktop environment. My solution is to switch to a tty (e.g. by
pressing C-M-F1) and killing evinced. Dragging in other applications
seems to work fine so this looks like an evince-specific problem.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 884251] Re: [Oneiric] Now way to configure font hinting and subpixel order

2011-11-13 Thread mazurkin
sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

After that you will be able to change fonts and aliasing. But I agree -
we need an option to edit these settings by default

[Oneiric] Now way to configure font hinting and subpixel order

Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
On my old Ubuntu installation, I had enabled font hinting and
configured the subpixel order so that the fonts look well on my LCD.

On my fresh Oneiric installation, there is no way to do so, and the
fonts look really ugly in some places (e.g., in the panel). They
appear to be blurry, which disturbs me very much. My eyes even keep
moving up the place where the indicators sit just because there is
something there that doesn't look right. Ubuntu really needs a way to
configure these things if they can't be detected automatically.
