[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1814140] Re: Folders on `Desktop` cannot be opened when nautilus is launched from `Startup Applications`
I am getting the same bug on an asus laptop, just an ext4 volume. put "nautilus /home/username/recipes" and I no longer can double click links to folders on desktop. uncheck that entry, and links start working -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1814140 Title: Folders on `Desktop` cannot be opened when nautilus is launched from `Startup Applications` Status in nautilus package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I experience already with 18.04, and now with the newly installed 18.10, that at some point all folders on the Desktop couldn't be opened anymore. One needs either open it from a regular nautilus window, or needs to kill & relaunch nautilus-desktop. I don't understand why but I finally found the trigger for the bug: It only occurs when nautilus is launched during boot by `Startup Applications` (so you have a open file manager window waiting already for you when you boot). If I remove the nautilus boot-launch from `Startup Applications` the folders can be opened again directly form the Desktop. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1302416] Re: deja-dup monitor was taking 6GB of memory
Just like many of the others. I installed Chrome Remote Desktop on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS. Later I started another copy of chrome and my computer came to standstill. I then told it to reboot, came back an hour later and logged in, still computer extremely slow, got system monitor started and deja-dup-monitor was using 4.3 gig of my 5.8 gig of memory. (using 5.5 of 5.8 total). I do use deja-dup for backup.
