Title:
vpn auto-connect works, but doesn't connect automatically when network
  is available.

Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
I'm having a bug in Ubuntu Trusty Tahr 14.04 LTS. The issue I'm having
is that with a connection set to auto-connect to a PPTP-vpn, it does
not auto-connect when (wireless)-network becomes available.

  Syslog returns this error:

   [1401130450.367538] [nm-vpn-connection.c:1374]
get_secrets_cb(): Failed to request VPN secrets #2: (6) No agents were
  available for this request.

However it does connect when when connecting to the particular
connection manually. e.g. I select the wireless network in the
  network-manager.

This bug seems related to bugs:
  #280571
  #1297849
  #1247682
  #1298047

The difference between my situation and the others is that vpn-
autoconnect does work, it just doesn't work automatically.

Access points' PropertiesChanged dbus signals freeze UI on mobile
  devices

Status in indicator-network package in Ubuntu:
  New
Status in network-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Krillin, rc-proposed, r83

  DESCRIPTION:
I've been trying to track down the cause of the occasional UI freezes on my
Krillin device, and I noticed that whenever the UI freezes for 2-4 seconds, I
get a burst of PropertiesChanged signals in dbus-monitor

  Here's a log of what's shown in dbus-monitor:
  http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/11992322/

I'd guess the problem is in the code that actually catches the signals
  and acts accordingly.

  HOW TO REPRODUCE:
  1) Move to a place where many wifi hotspots are available
  2) Connect the device via USB and run phablet-shell and then dbus-monitor
  3) Use the device while keeping an eye on dbus-monitor output

Background was stuck on Vanishing_by set in 12.10 some time ago.
After upgrade noticed that the unity-greeter version of the background
(i.e. with password box) transferred to desktop background (i.e. it had
the password box). Was not possible to set another background via
system-settings. Using dconf -editor I got it to disappear from the
desktop but not the greeter; desktop however now blank.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1049025] Re: Can't select text using mouse

2012-09-14 Thread royden
I see the same thing but have noticed that it is related to time: try
making very fast selections with the mouse and it works; take normal
time and the selection underway drops.

Another work around if you want to select a whole word or string of
whole words: double click first word and hold button down on second
click and drag. Mostly works.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1041354] Re: unity-panel-service since yesterday uses ~100% CPU, may be related to LibreOffice

2012-08-26 Thread royden
@penalvch:

As well, do you have lo-menubar and/or libreoffice-gtk installed? If
so, if you uninstall either or both, does the CPU continue to go to
100%?

No with both uninstalled CPU does not rise to 100%.

I assume with Ryan Lortie's (desrt) news there is no need for the
apport-collect -p libreoffice 1041354?
