Hi, sorted it, just went to dconf-editor than searched for screen lock down. came on to this: org.gnome.desktop.lockdown The default value was to disable lock down which I changed it to false. Now lock screen works. Hi Sebastian, thanks for your email. 1. specific actions: superkey +L > nothing happens. ctrl + alt + L > nothing happens. using terminal to lock screen as follow: gnome-screensaver-command -l ** (gnome-screensaver-command:34478): WARNING **: 11:56:50.135: unable to send message: Timeout was reached ** Message: 11:56:50.135: Did not receive a reply from the screensaver. 2. I expect the screen to lock and only to unlock with password. It used to do that before but not any longer. 3. The behaviour I encountered as above. I think it is an application that is blocking screenlock from doing it. I do not know how to identify which app is it and how to fix it. Hi Sebastian, thanks for your email. 1. specific actions: superkey +L > nothing happens. ctrl + alt + L > nothing happens. using terminal to lock screen as follow: gnome-screensaver-command -l ** (gnome-screensaver-command:34478): WARNING **: 11:56:50.135: unable to send message: Timeout was reached ** Message: 11:56:50.135: Did not receive a reply from the screensaver. 2. I expect the screen to lock and only to unlock with password. It used to do that before but not any longer. 3. The behaviour I encountered as above. I think it is an application that is blocking screenlock from doing it. I do not know how to identify which app is it and how to fix it. I also stried to use te autostart/add on option in preferences but still no luck. I can only start it manually bu doing sudo nm-applet in the command line. very annoying as it was working fine till the last update. Sth's wrong with the last update as i can't have my thunderbird icon on taskbar appear on log on. i used firestarter add on on mozilla thunderbird to minimise thunderbird to task bar on exit. that has gone as well.thanks koli Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: tried all the methods out there to fix it, on forums ect as apparently this was a common bug in the past but no luck. Hi I was playing an mkv file in vlc on my tv screen through a HDMI cable connected to my laptopt that runs ubuntu 18.04. Sound was also playing on TV speakers via the HDMI cable as well. I disconnected the HDMI cable and found out that sound would not reverse back to laptop built in speakers. I rebooted the laptop and the problem persisted. I therefore connected earplugs to it and than I was able to switch back to built in speakers. There is a bug with pulseaudio? I think that is causing all this trouble. Hi this is the first time when I had someone calling that was able to answer with videocall. Amasing, love it, I hope u guys can fix it. I still can't initiate calls though.
