[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1905209] Re: gnome-screensaver is blocked by an application to lock screen

2020-11-28 Thread sn0m
Hi, sorted it, just went to dconf-editor than searched for screen lock down.
came on to this:
org.gnome.desktop.lockdown
The default value was to disable lock down which I changed it to false.
Now lock screen works.
Thanks for pointing me out to solve it.
have a nice day
sokol

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1905209] Re: gnome-screensaver is blocked by an application to lock screen

2020-11-26 Thread sn0m
Hi Sebastian, thanks for your email.

1. specific actions: superkey +L > nothing happens. ctrl + alt + L >
nothing happens. using terminal to lock screen as follow:

gnome-screensaver-command -l

** (gnome-screensaver-command:34478): WARNING **: 11:56:50.135: unable
to send message: Timeout was reached
** Message: 11:56:50.135: Did not receive a reply from the screensaver.

2. I expect the screen to lock and only to unlock with password. It used
to do that before but not any longer.

3. The behaviour I encountered as above. I think it is an application
that is blocking screenlock from doing it. I do not know how to identify
which app is it and how to fix it.

Thanks

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1808460] Re: terminal shuts down automatically on startup

2018-12-19 Thread sn0m
Hi, solved it.
Used dconf-editor, went to org/gnome/terminal
Right click on terminal and click on reset recursively and approve.
that sorted it.
Thanks

Title:
nm-applet does not appear in the taskbar after latest update of
software in lubuntu. I also stried to use te autostart/add on option
in preferences but still no luck. I can only start it manually bu
doing sudo nm-applet in the command line. very annoying as it was
working fine till the last update. Sth's wrong with the last update as
i can't have my thunderbird icon on taskbar appear on log on. i used
firestarter add on on mozilla thunderbird to minimise thunderbird to
task bar on exit. that has gone as well.thanks koli

Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu:
  Incomplete

Bug description:
tried all the methods out there to fix it, on forums ect as apparently
this was a common bug in the past but no luck. I hope someone looks at
it as it is driving me nuts.

Title:
nm-applet does not appear in the taskbar after latest update of
software in lubuntu.

Title:
nm-applet does not appear in the taskbar after latest update of
software in lubuntu. I also stried to use te autostart/add on option
in preferences but still no luck. I can only start it manually bu
doing sudo nm-applet in the command line. very annoying as it was
working fine till the last update. Sth's wrong with the last update as
i can't have my thunderbird icon on taskbar appear on log on. i used
firestarter add on on mozilla thunderbird to minimise thunderbird to
task bar on exit. that has gone as well.thanks koli

Re: [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1780510] Re: pulseaudio does not resume playback via built in speakers, despite rebooting ubuntu

2018-07-08 Thread sn0m
Hi

I was playing an mkv file in vlc on my tv screen through a HDMI cable
connected to my laptopt that runs ubuntu 18.04.

Sound was also playing on TV speakers via the HDMI cable as well.

I disconnected the HDMI cable and found out that sound would not reverse
back to laptop built in speakers.

I rebooted the laptop and the problem persisted.

I therefore connected earplugs to it and than I was able to switch back
to built in speakers.

There is a bug with pulseaudio? I think that is causing all this
trouble.

Regards

Koli

nm-applet does not appear in the taskbar after latest update of
software in lubuntu. I also stried to use te autostart/add on option
in preferences but still no luck. I can only start it manually bu
doing sudo nm-applet in the command line. very annoying as it was
working fine till the last update. Sth's wrong with the last update as
i can't have my thunderbird icon on taskbar appear on log on. i used
firestarter add on on mozilla thunderbird to minimise thunderbird to
task bar on exit. that has gone as well.thanks koli

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 851857] [NEW] evolution not prompting for passord when trying to send email

2011-09-16 Thread sn0m
Public bug reported:

lsb_release-rd 11.04
sudo apt-cache policy evolution-evolution:
  Installed: 2.32.2-0ubuntu7
  Candidate: 2.32.2-0ubuntu7
  Version table:
 *** 2.32.2-0ubuntu7 0
500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Hi I have an account with doctors.org.uk and I have entered correct details in
evolution. It asked me for password initially and I can receive emails but
cannot send. At this point evolution will ask me for a password but I only get
this notification MAIL FROM command failed: sokolnus...@doctors.org.uk sender
requires authentication Not sure where to enter password or whether this is a
bug??
please advice

** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
