[Desktop-packages] [Bug 797686] Re: Hunspell is not used via libhunspell
Fixed in version 1.6.1 of 14 December 2016, see https://github.com/AbiWord/enchant/pull/15 Please upgrade enchant as this package hasn't been upgraded since at least 2012 in Ubuntu. ** Tags added: artful upgrade-software-version zesty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to enchant in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/797686 Title: Hunspell is not used via libhunspell Status in enchant package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Hunspell is not used when myspell is not install, enchant falls back to inferior aspell. I have installed on Ubuntu (Natty) the following packages: libenchant1c2a1.6.0-1 aspell0.60.6-4ubuntu1 hunspell 1.2.11-1ubuntu1 and a series of dictionaries but no package with the myspell executable. When using e.g. gedit that uses enchant, enchant will use aspell instead of hunspell. I have verified this by running both hunspell and aspell manually on the same document. The false positives that I see in gedit are indeed from aspell. I did not use a custom .enchant file, just the normal installation that would use: *:myspell, aspell, ispell So I would expect hunspell and not aspell. How can this be solved without having to install myspell executable? I consider this a major bug because many many users might expect that they are using a very recent and acurate spell check from hunspell but are actually thrown back to inferior checking with aspell. Can enchant bugs be linked to upstream bugzilla bugs in https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/bugtrackers/abi-bugs ? I managed to get Ctrl-Alt-L to lock the screen with Compiz, but the session menu item will not work. I tried: making symlinks from gnome-screensaver to xscreensaver and from gnome-screensaver-command to xscreensaver-command adding a .service file to /usr/share/dbus-1/services/ called org.gnome.ScreenSaver.service with the following content: [D-BUS Service] Name=org.gnome.ScreenSaver Exec=/usr/bin/xscreensaver I also tried that with Exec=/usr/bin/gnome-screensaver after creating the symlink. I'm not too familiar with dbus so I'm not sure what else I should do. Using gnome-screensaver is an option that follows dumping Gnome and choosing another distro in desirability. In other words, no chance. If gnome won't work with a real screensaver app that's additional activation energy to move me to another distro. The gpu-manager unit started, the xorg.conf was written, and so was the log but, somehow, even though the log says that the system needs offloading, no /var/lib /ubuntu-drivers-common/requires_offloading was created. This caused the system to boot into a black screen. Starting the same unit after (the failure to) boot, resulted in the correct creation of /var/lib/ubuntu-drivers- common/requires_offloading . There is probably something weird going on in the systemd unit, as gpu-manager has never behaved like this with Upstart. This breaks hybrid graphics.
