Public bug reported: Software Properties says that Extended Security Maintenance provides security updates for over 3 Ubuntu packages, see lines 1269 and 1346 in data/gtkbuilder/main.ui. According to https://ubuntu.com/16-04, Canonical provides extended security maintenance for binary packages that reside in the "main" Ubuntu repository, which contains about 7000 architecture-specific packages depending on the Ubuntu release.
