I have a similar issue: Blank screen on logon. Resizing the display gets it to work, though. (Just a annoyance, but should be fixable.) I also have this problem and I figured out another work around. BUT in my experience developers pay more attention to their github bug tracker. Similar problem in my installation (1.0.0-4ubuntu3): After connecting I often only have a blank window with toolbar. It took a while to realize that the session is there, but I need to resize the window. change its width by 1 pixel is enough to make the session visible. The 1 button doesn't work for me: It sets the correct width but double the height of was is necessary. If I click again the height is again doubled and the session itself is displayed outside of the range of my physical screen.
