[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1006985] Re: Display often fails to repaint
[Expired for gcalctool (Ubuntu) because there has been no activity for 60 days.] ** Changed in: gcalctool (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete = Expired -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gcalctool in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1006985 Title: Display often fails to repaint Status in “gcalctool” package in Ubuntu: Expired Bug description: Frequently, when performing a calculation, either by hitting enter on the keyboard or by clicking the = sign, the display will fail to update (it will still show the expression you typed in instead of the answer) until you do something else to cause a repaint such as moving the window. This does not happen every time, but if you keep clicking = enough times, it will eventually happen a few times. This beviour is not specific to the = key (it can sometimes decide to stop update in the middle of typing a number), but it seems to be most consitently reproducable with the = key. I have only noticed this behaviour when the calculator is in programming mode, but I don't use the other modes much at all. This bug only occurs in the version of gcalctool in the Ubuntu 12.04 repositories. This bug is not present in the Ubuntu 11.10 version. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1006985] Re: Display often fails to repaint
Hey Matt, Have you been able to reproduce the bug on some other hardware? Or can you give some specific steps by which we can reproduce the bug? From what I can see, there must be a bug in the graphics driver, and not in gcalctool. Do you often see similar behaviour in other applications on your machine?? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gcalctool in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1006985 Title: Display often fails to repaint Status in “gcalctool” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Frequently, when performing a calculation, either by hitting enter on the keyboard or by clicking the = sign, the display will fail to update (it will still show the expression you typed in instead of the answer) until you do something else to cause a repaint such as moving the window. I've been using Advanced mode instead of Programming mode for a while now, and have not encounter this bug under that settings, so it appears to be exclusive to Programming mode -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gcalctool in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1006985 Title: Display often fails to repaint Status in “gcalctool” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Frequently, when performing a calculation, either by hitting enter on the keyboard or by clicking the = sign, the display will fail to update (it will still show the expression you typed in instead of the answer) until you do something else to cause a repaint such as moving the window. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1006985] Re: Display often fails to repaint
My graphics card is GeForce GTX 560M, and I am using the proprietary version-current drivers. The calculator is the only program in which I am experiencing screen refresh issues. If it's at all relevant, I'm using GNOME Classic with Compiz. Thank you for your bug report, what videocard and driver do you use?
