[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1018699] Re: In formulas, matrices cannot include colors

2012-09-16 Thread Matrix Color
I just took another look at this, and noticed a problem with this
solution. Things enclosed in quotes are not in italics, while the rest
of the matrix is. Of course, I could just put the rest of the matrix in
quotes as well, which would be consistent, but its's still kind of
unfortunate.

Title:
In formulas, matrices cannot include colors

Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
In LibreOffice writer, click Insert > Object > Formula

In the formula frame, enter the following:
  [ matrix{ a # b ## c # red } ]
  [ matrix{ a # b ## grue # bleen } ]

You will notice a question mark in place of the word red. Replacing
red with any of black, white, green, yellow, blue, cyan, magenta will
also give a question mark. Other words (including more obsure colors)
work fine, as you can see from the grue/bleen example.

Aha, that does it! Thanks. I still think this is probably a bug, but
at least there's a workaround.

2012-07-12 Thread Tony Pursell
Try

[ matrix{ a # b ## c # "red" } ]
[ matrix{ a # b ## "blue" # "green" } ]

i.e enclose colour words in quotes.

Tony

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1018699] Re: In formulas, matrices cannot include colors

2012-07-09 Thread Matrix Color
(Sorry for the delay in replying)

I think you misread my bug report. Perhaps I should have rephrased the
title as "In formulas, matrices cannot include the names of colors"

I was not trying to make colored text. I was trying *not* to make
colored text. Please follow my reproduction steps exactly, so that you
can see . In addition, please try entering:

[ matrix{ a # b ## c # color black red } ]

What I want is for the word "red" to appear in the matrix (in black-
colored text). What I get is a question mark.

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1018699] Re: In formulas, matrices cannot include colors

2012-06-28 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Matrix Color, thank you for taking the time to report this issue and
helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given
us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and
converting it to a question in the support tracker. We understand the
difficulties you are facing, but it is better to raise problems you are
having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if
you are uncertain if they are bugs. You can also find a valid help
posting your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu's
community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at http://askubuntu.com. For
help on reporting bugs, see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs .

As per http://help.libreoffice.org/Math/Attributes_2 , instead of:
[ matrix{ a # b ## c # red } ]

you would do:
[ matrix{ a # b ## c # color red x } ]

Please feel free to report any future bugs you may find.

** Changed in: libreoffice (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Invalid
