[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1033411] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast()
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find. ** Visibility changed to: Public ** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1033411 Title: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_cast() Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: i have evolution 3.5.3 on my ubuntu 12.10 beta I sent one mail but it did not go through i have evolution across a proxy server the mail went to outbox showing error as Could not connect to 192.168.90.7: TCP connection reset by peer then it crashed when system is on manual proxy setting in network configuration evolution can not connet to mail server ProblemType: Crash DistroRelease: Ubuntu 12.10 Package: evolution 3.5.4-0ubuntu2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.5.0-8.8-generic 3.5.0 Uname: Linux 3.5.0-8-generic i686 ApportVersion: 2.4-0ubuntu6 Architecture: i386 CrashCounter: 1 Date: Mon Aug 6 12:01:26 2012 ExecutablePath: /usr/bin/evolution InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Precise Pangolin - Alpha i386 (20120324) ProcCmdline: evolution SegvAnalysis: Segfault happened at: 0xb6e99668 g_type_check_instance_cast+56:mov (%eax),%ebp PC (0xb6e99668) ok source (%eax) (0x0008) not located in a known VMA region (needed readable region)! destination %ebp ok SegvReason: reading NULL VMA Signal: 11 SourcePackage: evolution StacktraceTop: g_type_check_instance_cast () from /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/libgobject-2.0.so.0 mail_mt_free_activity (cancellable=0xb0915e50) at e-mail-backend.c:919 mail_msg_free (mail_msg=0xb96148b8) at mail-mt.c:162 ??
